First visit a couple of days earlier had a varied selection of ales but not to our taste. Bar was very busy. On Friday it looked like they had an Abbeydale beer on so we made sure we got there as it opened but it had already sold out the night before. Gutted but that's how popular it is. Stayed a couple of hours until our bus was due. Landlady is really friendly and knowledgeable just as it should be. Got talking to a lovely couple from Huddersfield and had a great laugh. Read moreI have seen that Alnwick’s first micro bar was open so we had to call in. A great variety of very well kept local cask ale, local gins, spirits, keg and soft drinks were available.
The bar was very knowledgeable and we had a good chat about the brewing industry.
We have really enjoyed ours visits to great ale house and when back in Alnwick will be calling again.

Read moreThis (presumably) ex retail unit was opened in March 2019 and straight into the battle against covid consequences. Resilient and now fighting back it offers a good selection of ales and other drinks in comfortable surroundings which I would theme as 'retro'; see phots to better determine yourself.
