A decent pub with a great pub feeling amd well worth visiting for a drink. However the food offering was, at best, entirely average. The salt and pepper Squid was clearly cook from frozen pre-prepared stuff which is disappointing somewhere so close to the sea. None of the staff had tried much of the menu so were unable to knowledgeably recommend any of the dishes. I ended up ordering the sausages with 'new' potatoes (clearly pre-prepared and held under hot lights until served as the skins had begun to dry and wrinkle). The sauce the sausages came in was actually delicious but the local sausages were entirely generic and curiously flavourless. As mentioned, the olive oil and balsamic sauce was lovely and that, and the onions and tomatoes that had been cooked in it, were by far the best part of the dish. So good that it would have been great to mop up with the juice with the bread, but unfortunately the bread was nearly inedible. The only thing 'rustic' about the bread was its clearly aged status. Just boring, pre-bought stodgy slices of badly cooked white baguette that had been cut earlier in the day and then left so that the faces were dry. A quick toasting of the slices would have done wonders. All in all, a meal that left an awful lot to be desired. Cheap, pre-packed food, heated and served with no real concern for consumer. Enjoy the pub for a pint, but definitely eat elsewhere!

We were in St. Davids for a week, and we ate here twice. The first time we had basic food that was good, I had a Moroccan style burger, and my wife had a Greek style salad. The second time we ate there was a perfect dining experience as we decided to eat mid afternoon and ordered Crab salad with olive bread. The pub had just had a fresh delivery of Crab from Solva, and I can quite honestly say it was the best crab salad we have ever had in Britain. We sat outside in the lovely garden with its olive trees and a variety of plants and were blessed by the sun. Take it from me. It was sublime. The service was very good and professional each time we went in the place and we did go in every day. The only minor and it is minor downside to the pub is that when you enter all the tables say reserved on them and there is a very cramped area by the bar where people que to ask for tables or just to order a drink. This causes a bottleneck and confusion around the bar area. This is a minor issue, and I don't know how it can be solved, but then again, on all our visits, we never failed to get a seat. We loved this pub and all that went with it, so let's hope it continues to provide great memories and continues to prosper.

Update April 2024: Still excellent. The Double Dragons is a really good session bitter and well kept. The staff are genuinely friendly and service is excellent. The Angry Dog burgers are very good, not over cooked, tasty and served with a crunchy slaw and really nice fries. Not huge, but a sensible, satisfying meal. The soundtrack is retro, but not unpleasant. There's a good size outside space for when the sun is out. Facilities are tidy and everything works. Wi-fi is quick. A brilliant place for just a cup of tea and some cake, lunch or a full blown dinner. Good specials and not wildly expensive. Will visit again. Good food, reasonable selection of beer. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff. Not too expensive.

Has a tasty sandwich at lunchtime and traditional Cawl in the evening. The food , pricing and atmosphere was great on each occasion. What was very good , best I have had in a busy restaurant , was the service. Lunchtime was very busy with indoors full and the beer garden 75% full. My wife went to the bar to order food. While she was gone a very polite young man came along and offered me instructions as to how I should order. I told him it was already being done but , before my wife had returned ( just a few minutes ) he had returned with the condiments and cutlery. Due to the number of people there we were expecting a wait of up to 30 minutes , which we didn't mind as we were sat in a sun trap. To our surprise the young man was back within 10 minutes with our sandwiches. Amazing , quick service. I enquired about reserving a table for the evening ( assuming it would be relatively quiet due to the time of year ) to which he replied that though it might not be full it would be advisable to book. The perfect answer by an employee, delivered with a smile - though I guess he knew a walk in would be Ok. That's what we did and the restaurant was half full but we didn't mind as we had the seat of our choice and a perfectly good meal. All in all a great place to eat with good food and exceptional service. Compliments to...
