A group of us went for lunch just after 1. It was really busy and there were no tables so we left and popped back 10 minutes later.
We were lucky someone was leaving so we were able to get a seat. However I heard the person ask to get their baguette to go as they couldn’t wait any longer.
We saw the 3 courses for £5.99 served between 11.30 & 2.00 offer and thought it was a great deal, however none of us wanted this deal.
When we went to order our food we were told there was no soup, no jacket potatoes, no baguettes and no waffles, which didn’t leave much on the menu.
We placed our order, which we were told would take some time but should be no longer than 30.
We waited for our food, which was 2 salads, a sandwich and a panini.
The sandwich came, which to be fair my friend could have made a better one herself. It was 2 slices of bread, cut in half and that was it. I’ve never been anywhere that doesn’t quarter a sandwich and have a little side salad with it.
The house salad, although tasty, was definitely not worth £5.99, again I’ve gone to elsewhere and had a salad with coleslaw, beetroot and extras for less, this was a bed of lettuce, too much cucumber, tomatoes, a bit bacon and some chicken.
I’ve given it a 3 star as it’s a nice cozy place for a COFFEE in my experience.
If you’re running a special deal on food you think that you would make sure you have enough to supply lunches for the time period or at least make sure there was a selection of alternatives, not run...
Read moreWas here before they had to close due to the fire next door. The food was good, the coffee was good, and the atmosphere was good.
Went back on the day of reopening and it is good to see a breath of fresh air has been blown into the place. Everything seemed so much more vibrant than I remember. The food was better (had a panini), I opted not to have a coffee as the staff seemed run off their feet (it was very busy), but they had plenty of other drink options. The cakes looked sublime as well (the Victoria sponge was soft, fresh, and just the perfect size).
Had a go of the escape room, Level 99. Must admit, had to get more hints than I thought I would need. Not so easy that you can breeze through it, but not too difficult that it isn't a challenge.
For anyone visiting Leven, it is definitely worth a visit. For the locals, it's a nice café with...

Friendly staff greet you and will help decide which activity is most suitable. Escape room available but not used on this visit but we will go back to try it out. Enjoyed a coffee and cake after the game of crazy golf. Clean, tidy cafe with a good selection of...
