Went two weeks ago and the level of service was shocking!!! I’ve been to Vivi and Co three times, and each of those times has been to celebrate my birthday with brunch. The first two times were absolutely wonderful, tasty food and excellent service. However, they seem to have gone downhill in the last year because this third time was the worst brunch I’ve ever had.
Every year I’ve been I’ve had to wait for a table so I was expecting that. We came back in half an hour later and were then sat at a table. Someone did not come to take our order for another HALF AN HOUR. We knew what we wanted to have as soon as we came in and not once did they come over and speak to us. Everytime someone came past and we tried to stop them to take our order they would literally look at us and then run in the opposite direction. There was this one girl pretending to clean tables and speaking to other tables who came in after us, and then there were the girls behind the counter who were just chatting and looking at us but still not taking our order.
50 minutes later, our food finally arrived, another 5 and I told my friend that we would leave and visit this place called i think Nonna’s (?) down the road. I ordered the Halloumi eggs benedict which was not on par with the last two years. You’d think with the amount of time they spent in the kitchen making it it would come out looking and tasting like a michelin star meal that Gordon Ramsay himself was making.
Me and my friend both ordered hot chocolates and they both arrived cold and the cups were dirty??? Safe to say I drank none of that and wasted £4. And when I tried to point it out to the server she ran away again. I’ve worked back of house in a desserts restaurant before and if I had served a customer a drink in a dirty cup I would have been seriously shouted at by my manager but there seems to have not been a manager in that day. And maybe if the girls behind the counter weren’t too busy chatting my drink wouldn’t have been cold.
Coming to Vivi and Co has been a birthday tradition but it’s been ruined for me now, which is such a shame because the past two years it’s been perfect!! I travelled an hour and a half to get there and spent about the 2 hours waiting for the food which was unacceptable. By the time the whole palava was over it was 4pm (we got to bearsden at half one). At this point my birthday was pretty much already...

My friend and I could somewhat be considered connoisseurs of a good sweet brunch, specifically pancakes and waffles. When we travel together we often split 2 dishes between us and review said brunch. This brunch tops our list (which may I add is an international one).
One morning on our short trip to Glasgow, we decided to board a train to travel to Vivi and Co (which we had diligently researched online). I can vividly recall us saying how ridiculous we were to be travelling more than half an hour for some pancakes instead of exploring the sights of the centre of Glasgow while we were on the train. However, we have no regrets.
We had the coco pop French toast and pancakes with biscoff and raspberries. Both dishes arrived beautifully presented and with several dynamic sensory elements to tantalise our palettes, including honeycomb and candy floss. It was obvious that a lot of thought and trial and error had gone into what combinations would work both texture and flavour wise. They were also visually stunning.
Vivi and Co have a completely unique USP in this market and we have not been able to come across such interesting and unique flavours and combinations since dining here almost 2 years ago, to the extent we were just reminiscing about these pancakes and decided to write this review! We have unfortunately not encountered anything like Vivi and Co on our...
Read moreI experienced Vivi and Co for the first time on Sunday 17th October 2021. I discovered this place online and thought it looked lovely and very different compared to other coffee house. Upon entering, the décor and the establishment took pride in its aesthetics and it was a beautiful place. Staff were welcoming and friendly. I decided to order a latte and the pink raspberry pancakes which looked like heaven in the photos. The coffee was fantastic and a lovely motto delivered on my latte was an extra special touch. However, the pancakes were a big let down I'm afraid. They tasted stale both the pancakes and the pink wafers. If you could imagine opening a packet of biscuits a few days before without sealing them and making pancakes a day before then you'll know what I'm talking about. I couldn't finish them and I didn't enjoy them. My partner on the other hand had a lovely full Scottish breakfast and looked and tasted brilliant. My partner did mention this to the staff and they offered us a 10% discount on the £10 pancakes and a free coffee. However, I feel that the taste of the pancakes didn't match my expectations and I'm afraid I wouldn't order these again. I believe it is targeted to a specific audience and very instagram-esque. This does not apply to the general population and may exclude people who want to try it out. I'm sorry to say Vivi and Co but you may live up to pleasing aesthetically but you do not deliver...
