kaf goods — Restaurant in Scotland

I was very excited to learn that Kaf had opened up in Bearsden, having been to the original cafe in Partick when we were still city-dwellers. We have been there twice already this week, and while my bank balance is probably not enjoying having such easy access to this great spot, my taste buds certainly are! The coffee is delicious and as good as anything in the West End, and they have a great selection of cakes. I am a big fan of olive-oil based cakes, and Kaf have two to choose from at the moment, both of which are so tasty. The shop itself has some really great stuff too, from interesting nut butters, chocolate, cereals, cheeses, dips, sauces and dressings. I can't wait to keep coming back and sampling all the great stuff they have. It's great to see another fantastic addition to Bearsden Cross. Who needs...

Today I bought probably the best sandwich I've ever had in my life from the Kaf (which sounds really dramatic but it's true - the Chicken Tinga). The quality of the chicken inside was sooo good and the well-fired focaccia was perfect to bite into before hitting all the flavour. This is a hidden gem in Bearsden. I went in for a coffee and bought a pain au chocolat on a whim and I’m so glad I did. It was on par with some of the best I had when I lived in France. I’ll be back to try all the baked goods offered.

The store is incredibly well put together and supplies some great specialty grocery items and reusable goods. My only wish was that they were open earlier and more often, but that’s the best...
