After reading some incredible reviews about the amazing desserts and service (in particular Fatima ) I thought it was finally time to try out waffle box in Normington derby The place stands out with its modern but simple design and the prominent illuminated sign put me at ease knowing I had finally arrived…. I was nervous as to what awaited me !!!!! We’re the dessert reviewers all true ? was Fatima really the dessert queen of Normington ? Or was it all just hype? I was about to finally find out….. Inside the place is very clean and modern and there is ample stylish seating for everyone if your a single lonely loner like me or even if your with friends and family I don’t think you will struggle to be seated. Now the moment I had anticipated as I came to the counter it was empty ….my heart sank…. no bundle of sprinkles to greet me (Fatima) there was an old school bell on the counter so I closed my and eyes gave it a hopeful press praying my prayers were answered….. when I slowly opened my eyes I couldn’t believe it ….. like out of a sene from a movie there she was it must be her I thought to myself ….. that swagger that orange T shirt those grey trackie bottoms those sliders finally I got the infectious smile and the showing of those natural pearly whites ….. I knew it was her the dessert queen of Normington …..finally I was in the presence of greatness…… Just looking at her makes you want to order the whole menu but I had to calm myself down and try to be professional I finally decided on an old classic jam sponge with custard along side a Kashmiri pink tea After taking my order away she went with the walk of swagger Dan into the back and there I was twiddling my thumbs and bopping my head and feet to the Classic R&B tunes pumping in the background It wasn’t long before I got my dessert from the ever glowing Fatima who seemed like she glided across the floor to personally served it to my table. The presentation was impressive …..but when I tasted the sponge I felt my tastebuds explode into excitement and I felt I had been transported back into time to and I was back at school where I used to have this all the time …. the tea was equally as good giving me flashbacks of sitting in the lush valleys of Kashmir itself I honestly recommend you try this place out the service and desserts are second to none and you will struggle to find a better place in my opinion if nothing else you have to pop in just to set eyes on the queen...

Drove past this the other day and thought Ill give it a try as it looked promising. Was feeling something sweet so with it being covid lockdown atm I can't eat in so can't critique the dining in experience or the customer service

Placed the order on just eat and it arrived within the allocated time and the delivery person who handed me the food delivered it courteously.

The waffle was well packed and the packing was clean and branded well

The waffle itself tasted great however you know when you microwave chocolate and it cools down and it becomes a bit a bit flakey, it tasted like that and felt a bit half arsed.

The portion size itself wasn't the greatest, with the dessert/waffle business being over saturated you would have hoped for a bit more for the money and you can get full sized waffled for less.

It came with soft serve ice cream which is also a bit of a let down compared when the standard is a gelato

I think 3 out of 5 stars is a fair review, the food tasted good however it doesn't feel like it was value for money

Some improvements is to add more options, the fact there is no maple syrup or Nutella option is criminal and to increase...
