Windermere Jetty Museum Lakeshore Cafe — Restaurant in Great Britain

We parked at Rayrigg Meadows car park and then googled somewhere to eat. This cafe was listed as the closest and on reading the reviews we decided it was worth the very long walk (for us in our 70s, on a very hot day) to the cafe. All the way there I was thinking we may arrive after last orders. I was so pleased on entering the cafe to see a large menu displayed on a tressle which to me signalled they were still serving. My husband gave the young women our order only to be told it is a lunch menu and is only served untill 3 pm. I was so disappointed! Had we been refused because we had arrived after last orders then I could have understand but to know that the cafe had stopped serving even before we set off on the long walk there, well, I was gutted. Why can't it be mention that they stop serving at 3 pm on their Google entry. Granted on looking at their website the menu does state in tiny print at the top that lunch is served 12 till 3 but you have to search for this information and then download a document and we were in a hurry. Please make it more clear in your Google entry to save others being disappointed as we have been. On a positive note the cakes we were directed to did look delicious but not what we wanted...

£50 ish for 2 meals and 3 drinks and a portion of fries. Wasnt bothered that it was pricey, we expected it. Went to two different servers to explain that my caeser salad was missing anchovies and parmasan. And a friends caeser salad (not on our bill) had no croutons. First server shrugged and said she didnt work there (she was from another department heloing out) second servers (duty manager apologised and said she would inform the kichen) but offered us nothing for the issue. We would have said earlier but no staff asked how our meal was and the queue was too big to wait in when 10 of us were currently eating. Not impressed. However my husbands burger was lovely he said....

Poor festive meal today. Waited over an hour to arrive. Hair on turkey bake taken away and replaced (hopefully!). Vegetables so hard and pigs blankets undercooked looking very pink. Waitress apologetic. Chef told her that is how he cooks the vegetables al dente. Sorry but they were undercooked . My husband and I go regularly to eat but for sandwiches cakes tea and coffee. Taken friends and family. Always enjoyed. Staff friendly. Elaine wonderful. Provided wheelchair for my husband. Told her on leaving today. Got duty manager to see me. He said he welcomed my feedback and said it was a challenging day. Waitress had said chef was on his own today. Is that our fault?...
