We had a brunch here today. At first there wasn't any table so we nipped down to have a look at the beach. We came back and enquired about a table for 4 but with a pram. I can't remember names which is my fault but the young lady that took my name told me 10 minutes and we should have a table. Rightly so in roughly 10 minutes we had a table although she took my name, when she came to tell me, she pointed and said pushchair rather than Carl. This was a funny highlight and I made it clear I was not offended but I actually found it really funny. She was very apologetic but I told her it was fine as I am always game for a laugh. We sat and ordered, it was busy busy and after getting drinks we did get slightly forgotten about but it did not cause any major issues at all. We have the breakfast, the big boy breakfast and a bacon baguette which was all lovely and quality food and good portions. I then got asked if we would like anything else and I said a beer please and asked the other young lady if she could suprise me and she didn't disappoint. She seemed happy I allowed her to make a choice for me. I loved giving that choice and it was a top choice. We enjoyed our food and loved the atmosphere and the service was great, could not fault it. The only issue at all was baby change, we found the changing mat but it meant changing little man on the floor on the mat, nowhere higher to change him, it didn't pose a massive issue but it's not the best to kneel on a toilet floor changing a baby. The floor was clean so that is a bonus but still not ideal. Other than that small issue, it was a great place, great food, great staff and great atmosphere. Definatley recommend on any given day. Thank you to the staff there, they are a credit to the cafe.
Kindest regards from Carl...
Read moreDuring our visit to California Cliffs in April 2024, we had the pleasure of dining at Angelo’s Cafe, a charming little spot in this seaside holiday village. Although we only visited once, the experience left a positive impression.
Arriving close to closing time, the cafe was quiet, offering a relaxed atmosphere perfect for winding down after a day of exploration. The service was exceptional, with the staff providing friendly and attentive assistance throughout our visit.
The menu selection was varied and satisfying, catering to different tastes. We found the quality of the food to be quite good, earning an 8/10 rating from us. What’s more, the prices were reasonable, and the portion sizes were generous, offering great value for money.
While we didn’t try any standout dishes, the overall cleanliness of the cafe was noteworthy, adding to the pleasant dining experience. Outdoor seating options were available, enhancing the cafe’s appeal on a sunny day.
Although we didn’t notice any particularly unique aspects about the cafe, its cozy and informal ambiance was enough to make us feel welcome. While there were no specific aspects that exceeded our expectations, there were also no issues encountered during our visit.
In terms of accessibility, the cafe scored a moderate 5/10, given its small and quaint location within California Cliffs.
Overall, we would highly recommend Angelo’s Cafe to others seeking a relaxed and informal dining experience with friendly service and...
Read moreNot my problem. We've been here before and it's always been great. Four of us sat last week and ordered various breakfasts, three breakfasts came out. After a few minutes we chased and were subsequently told that the kitchen had missed one of the breakfasts. The rest of us had practically finished, so we said not to bother. The waitress told me wife ok and that she wouldn't charge for this breakfast. My wife explained that she rightly wouldn't pay for a breakfast she hadnt had anyway and the waitress replied with it's not my problem. Now in any other situation, this would be wrong, but the delivery of a single line like this has been comedy gold over the last few days - we've all been in stitches. We've renamed Angelo's to Not My Problem when we walk past. Want to start moaning about something - not my problem. Genius. So, whilst this should of been a one star review for what is crap (not my problem) service, I have bumped this up to 3 because the food is decent and, whilst we can't bring ourselves to return for what is very poor customer service, I am secretly hoping the waitress lands a part in a BBC sitcom with an appropriate catchphrase in the next year or two. Pure...
