California Tavern — Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Visited today after booking a table for a meal, 0n arrival was greeted by a very rude waitress/barmaid, after being told by another member of staff to sit somewhere we were then told off like naughty school children for sitting there by the waitress/barmaid. While I appreciate the fact you have to follow rules on wearing masks when you asked why a member of our family wasn't wearing one you dont need to stand and lecture them when they have a genuine reason, if you'd bothered to take the time to ask our daughter is autistic and struggles with social situations so this was not helpful to her anxiety!! When we had finally got round to ordering and receiving our food I have to say it's one of the worst meals we've had, rubber chips which left a bad taste in your mouth and definitely not worth the money you charged!!! I believe a course on customer service is definitely in order for the waitress/barmaid cause you have now ruined any chance of us getting my daughter into...

Staff can't fault friendly chatty good customer service , however who ever is in charge of the food quality and presentation !! Having been a gourmet butcher for 25 plus years it's completely see through it very pricy for what you get ! gourmet burgers it said it was a bookers 170 gram patty completely tasteless with an old frozen bun was like cotton wool salad tired onion rings from Lidl my partner had Texas chicken a 200 gram chicken fillet was dry over cooked salad un inventive I could go on but there's no point u get it! Chef or management need a meeting, so everyone is on the same page lovely looking place staff helpful and friendly just a shame with what's going on in the kitchen If the prices were 7 quid for a burger and chips You would just accept it probably won't eat there for a while see if...
