We visited this restaurant with good intentions. I am a vegan so the only option was the penne arrabittia which was a shame... so I thought I would order the bread and olives as a starter and made a point to the waitress that I did not want cheese because I was vegan. The bread and olives came out half an hour after ordering and it had cheese on. Upon questioning the waitress as it did not described the bread to have cheese on the menu it came out with cheese on to our disappointment after waiting so long just for some bread and olives. Overall, the service was quite inattentive. The waitress did not really know what she was doing nor could recommend anything for us. The drinks took twenty minutes to arrive, I can understand that she was the only waitress working but the restaurant was not even half full so I couldn't understand how it would take that long to pour a glass of wine and a beer. It just felt very unorganised and the waitress was not very professional. Upon waiting 45 mins for some pasta and fish in which my boyfriend had ordered (bearing in mind I couldn't enjoy my starter as it had cheese on - which I would like to add when I did question it I could hear the chef swearing to the waitress from outside saying there wasn't cheese on it when there was cheese on it) we gave up and cancelled our mains and left feeling hungry and disappointed. There was no apology for the inconvenience and the time that we wasted. It was a shame as the food looked like it could have been nice but the menu isn't very exciting and the decor could do with an update. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant, or maybe in future they should consider having more mature staff on the floor on a Friday night instead of someone who has no idea what they are doing. The wine menu isn't very good for an Italian restaurant either. Highly disappointing considering it had a 4 star rating so we drove out of...

Tempted by a Groupon to drive out from Coventry on a dreary cold night with virus gloom hanging around the question was would it be worth it for a thirteen mile drive? It was, the starters set the tone and the mains finished the event in harmony with decent beers for two and an excellent house wine for the other two.

Three of us are much travelled and we know our food and drink, one is a master of wines. There is no shame in a well chosen house wine and the dry red here was perfect with the steak and the strongly sauced sea bass. Most importantly the vegetables were just at the point of perfection and salads were fresh and tangy.

Service was efficient and knowledgeable without being fussy, obsequious or intrusive (the current American habit of continual interruption with 'is everything alright' has not infected here yet!), the ambience was supportive of the food again without distracting and everything was spotlessly clean. Our foreigner, our disabled person, our fairly deaf person and our inexperienced 'yoof' were all dealt with empathically.

Our only negative comment, there was nowhere convenient to hang our coats which were wet and heavy!

All in all one of the best meals our team has enjoyed on our travels in the last couple of years. Thank...

We visited the restaurant on a recent visit to Lutterworth with our two children. My fiancée and I had visited previously for a romantic meal but due to a very rowdy party, taking over the restaurant, we made a hasty exit and ate elsewhere.

This time, the restaurant was quiet - when we arrived at least; however, the restaurant is clearly understaffed, and everything was very slow as a result, whilst the one member of staff present seemed somewhat stressed throughout. When we visited before, we thought this was because the restaurant was excessively busy, but clearly it is the norm!

I requested the duck but it was not available, so I chose the King Prawn Linguini, as did my fiancée. The food took over an hour to arrive, however, it was entirely worth the wait. The portion size was generous and the dish was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and exceptionally tasty.

When the bill arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised. For less than £60, we enjoyed very good food in a pleasant environment. The restaurant has a very authentic atmosphere and the decor is...

Went for my birthday meal, Friday night and the restaurant was fairly busy. We had starters baked mozzarella and Parma ham and seafood salad - I really liked it I wanted to ask for it as a main it was that good. The mains came I had chicken mushroom and blue cheese was really tasty and my wife had the salmon and lobster pasta we really enjoyed it. We had the house medium white wine which was really good and we stayed for dessert - all really good. The waiter was nice and gave us a free shot of leimonchello which was nice 👌 would definitely come back! As for the decor it was great even on the day of storm eunus it was warm and really cosy. Parking was free outside couldn't have been a better night - well done 👌

This is a beautiful Italian restaurant. The layout and decor is sofisticated and simple. The host was kind, soft spoken and able to assist my dining partner in finding the right selection off the menu when everything looked too good. I was able to order off a dedicated vegetarian section which offered at least 4 options. The food was excellent. Hot, fresh, well presented and absolutely delicious. If you like Italian food in Italy it is likely you will still love it at Cheikho's.
