The Fox Inn — Restaurant in Harborough

A lovely Sunday roast. We walked in on mother's Day having not booked at 2pm Initially we were told that the restaurant was fully booked but the landlady said that she thought there had been a cancellation. After a very short wait we were told that there was room for the four of us and once we were seated we were treated to a beautifully cooked Sunday lunch. The choice included mini sunday lunches for those with a smaller appetite. Having chosen the pork, beef and vegetarian options we were not disappointed. The food was well cooked and tasty. Took my Dad here for Father's Day, and it was the worst meal I've ever eaten. So embarrassed. Social distancing didn't exist, place mats were shared between tables?! And not cleaned after use. The food had obviously been microwaved, vegetables were not fresh and were frozen. No vegetarian or vegan options. Honestly, it was so bad we laughed so much, it was like a comedy sketch. Really poor management after recently re-opening, nonexistent customer service, closed an hour earlier than the outside board stated, poor staff, not enough glasses, bottles at the back apparently for show (empty)!
