Hook Tandoori — Restaurant in Hart

Saw some reviews of this place and as it was across road from our overnight accommodation thought we would give it a try. It was a Friday evening so not sure if they would have room but on arrival they said they could and seated us at a table. Ordered drink and poppadoms and settled in for what we hoped was a good evening. Waiters kept hovering and asking us to order. We dont like to be rushed. When we went to order our starters we were then asked to order our mains. We didnt wish to just then but they kept insisting saying that out table was booked for 50 minutes time!!! This was the first we had heard about this - not enough time to eat a full Indian despite the waiter insisting it was ample time!!! If we had been informed of the time constraint on arrival we would not have stayed. Therefore we asked for the bill and left after finishing our drinks. The waiter seemed very full of himself going over how famous and award winning the restuarant was - not in my book. A restuarant is only as good as the customer thinks it is! On looking in more detail at the reviews their food was obviously good but there were many comments about their pushiness and customers feeling rushed. For the prices I would expect to be able to take my time over my meal. Many better and more customer orientated places around. Lucky to get 1 star...

I’ve been in Hook Tandoori yesterday around 9pm receptionist named Abdul behaved very rude with me. And today dated 11/10/2024 around 20:30 I went there and that same person named Abdul said me to get out from restaurant I’m not gonna take any order from you said Abdul for what reason I don’t know. After this I said my friend to come with me and order because I have organised a party and Abdul insulted me front of my friend and full of crowd there by saying my friend if you’re with him I’m not gonna take your order. It’s not nice to insult someone like this. I request to manager/owner to look into this matter and sort it out. It could happen to anyone . And today again 13/10/24 at 21:20 I called to order and same staff named Abdul said we are not gonna take any order from you mentioned owner said if you reviewed bad you are blocked from Restaurant. It’s clearly a wrong thing I request to head to look into this matter. And, I won’t suggest anyone...

I tried Hook Tandoori last night as many have told me I should go. It's not the closest to where I live, but wow, the journey was worth it. I had chicken tikka as a starter. The chicken was tender with great favour. Decided to have chicken tikka masala as my main. These dishes come with rice included which helps the budget. Always wary of the places that have bright red tikka massala and Hook Tandoori version is not serve that type of dish. You can tell straight away that the ingredients are quality, the chicken breast clearly cooked to perfection with a Massala source that was not super sweet / bright red - a proper traditional recipe that was delicious. I cleaned the plate. Ice cold Cobra as well, just as I like it. Lastly staff were super attentive, kept checking in on our meal progress, making sure we were happy - which we absolutely were.
