Old White Hart — Restaurant in Hart

We came to the white heart on Monday the 29th January 2024 for our away dart match. I came with my grandad like I always do on dart nights and it was fine until I was greeted by a very very rude manager who definitely needed to re look at his Job profession! 🤣

When he came to me he was super rude and patronising. He said “show me ID otherwise your out off my Pub” Me being 16 I didn’t have ID so I didn’t have anything to show.

Further more, He said because I’m 16 I have to go anyway which was understandable due to licensing laws. it was the way he said it and the way he spoke to me that annoyed me!

Secondly, if you were so strict on licensing laws in your Pub why would your member off staff serve me a A pint of Guinness at the age of 16? This shouldn’t be happening and I feel like this definitely needs to be investigated.

He then said more patronising words to me about my age, yes I was rude back but he should not have mouthed me with his unprofessional & ugly Tone.

We used to come here for food with my family and also used to come here to watch football, that certainly won’t be the case anymore. we will be moving to a different pub for our meals out in the future.

you’re certainly not a family friendly pub if that’s the way your speak to your youngsters! You wonder why some younger people don’t have respect for the elders as you have not shown me to do that but fortunately for you I do and have got respect...

We arrived at approx 5.15pm after calling ahead to check availability. When we arrived we found ourselves a table for four. The table hadn't been cleaned after the people before us, two of the chairs at our table were broken and the lighting was dark making the dining area very dingy. We ordered via the app which was easy and the menu had great choices however the service was exceptionally slow service, it took over half an hour for our drinks, which were wrong, to be delivered and almost an hour for the food to arrive, when it did arrive the food was hot but we had to request cutlery. The ladies loo was in dire need of a clean, there was a layer of dust almost everywhere, the dining area was dated and some of the lighting fixtures were hanging off the wall, near the service door to kitchen the carpet appeared to have some significant water damage or something to that effect. Thursday evening meal out with my partner and our girls. Never been before and literally picked from a Google search. Always dubious when visiting somewhere different pub wise for an evening meal; but we were glad we went! Lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff were really friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Food was absolutely fab, great value for money, great choice, very good portion sizes and freshly cooked - piping hot too. We had the Katsu chicken, build your own burger, steak and a kids meal - all were great.
