Whatever you do, do not go to their open mic night. As someone who plays at a lot of open mic nights across the UK, I urge you all not to bother with his poorly run night which is essentially a house drummer and a bassist (who are more than competent musicians so no criticism towards them) and just the nearest bloke available on vocals singing a pissed version of Mustang Sally. Give me a break, if I wanted to hear pissed people sing I would go to Dublin on New Years Eve. Start promoting real talent in the area and it will enhance your reputation. Great local pub that is definitely worth visiting for a good night out, especially if you're a fan of live music. It is nice to see a pub bucking the trend and still hosting full bands - the amount of people that turn up to see them is encouraging too, even if it means a longer wait at the bar sometimes! We had a very enjoyable evening here. It is a very traditional pub in appearance. There are TV screens and the World Cup was being shown. It has three nice pool tables (£1 a game/free on Sundays after 7pm).
