We have been regulars at The Prince Albert for approx three years. So were delighted when it re opened after being closed for about a year. The bar staff are lovely, so helpful and friendly. The new chef does a good vegan selection and the food is tasty. However after today's experience we will not be going back. We booked a table for 2pm, after an hours wait we were informed the kitchen had received a glut of bookings in one go. So we could either wait a further 30 + mins or have a refund. These things happen, right and we were looking forward to our meal. When it arrived the food was cold and served in a tin dish. We politely stated this and said it would have been nice to be offered either a discount or free drink as a good will gesture when asked if all was well. We were met with a torrent of abuse by the waiter, who among other things practically called us liars and drunkards. We had consumed two drinks each in an almost two hour wait. Read moreWe simply were not expecting to stumble over this place on our travels. Great food, great beer and fantastic staff make me wish this was my local. It was so good even the radio was smashing out some bangers (Disney songs, The Fall, the clash). Considering me and my partner only came to this pub as we exhausted the only other real vegan option in Hastings (The Hempest) it is simply stunning what the owner (very nice bloke) has manged to do in what essentially looked like a regular old pub in a housing estate. The decorations are nice, the vibe is great and they even put on bands!
Well worth the trip for any vegan/music/beer fan if you're in...
