Passed it by chance with no intention of stopping…then some ridiculously delicious aromas wafted my way…this followed by now taking in the scene. Despite being a fresh Hastings day in a boho market setting I was transported to the south coast of France instantly by the colourful pop up furniture, funky decor and delightful Gallic-galette reception from the solo entrepreneur of this culinary French inspired pit-stop, Penelope. Before I knew it, I was masticating upon a supremely, delicious, savoury crepe of carefully curated, scrumptiousness. That of my wife’s, which involved walnuts, blue cheese and pear I have to thank Penelope for as it created a rare captured moment of silence while she was transported to an elevated plane of eating enlightenment. Beautiful food - the best galettes and crêpes we've had outside of France, and frankly as good as anything we've had there! Felt like we were on holiday eating here. Service was quick and friendly, all made fresh and to order. Would highly recommend the local Sussex cider - beautiful and dry as you would drink on the continent. The sweet crêpe with tatin style apples and crumble was incredible. All savoury food can be made without ham and with substitutes for vegetarians.
