Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Havant

Firstly the only reason this post has 3 stars is because of Olivia T and Laura who were extremely helpful and apologetic, it would be lower otherwise. I arrived just after 08:30 to grab a coffee and pastry but there were no pastries, this was apparently due to a lack of order the day before. Not great. I sat down and immediately noticed the state of the floor, clearly it didn't see a mop and soapy water the night before. My usual Costa is in Waterlooville, a store that is always well stocked, clean and welcoming when I visit. The saving grace with the Next Costa is the staff behind the counter (named above) who had been left to apologise for the lack of fresh pastries. Whoever failed to place the order owes them an apology and as I was not the only one asking they have also lost the store revenue. I ordered two take away coffees this morning. The staff were so unwelcoming and just felt rude. They clearly didn’t want to be there. I understand not everyone wants to work in a coffee shop but it’s not my fault and no need to be so grumpy to me about it. I had two drinks both of which were horrible. I go to costa often and they tasted nothing like normal, one was so milky you couldn’t taste any coffee and the cappuccino was awfully bitter. I asked for the new summer meringue, expecting it to be accompanied with cream and mixed berry compote. To be given a plain meringue on a plate with no cutlery. I am a Costa unit manager for Compass and when I asked for the accompaniments they said they do not do the Eaton mess, and that they do not have the compote but I could have cream if I wanted.
