Worth more than simply a visit whilst taking a stroll in Aberford Park, Aberford Café is more restaurant than café. Open during the evening as well as daytime it is worth a visit for dinner as well as a hangover-recovery late breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere was buzzing on our visit and it was packed. Mainly due to our party of 17 humans and a talking teddy bear – Me! We were remembering our late-friend Simon (Punky). His photo sat at the tip of the table.
The staff patiently accommodated the large group in the small venue. What we really appreciated was that they took payments from each person on order at the table. This makes it so much easier than either working out who had what and who owes how much or splitting the bill evenly when some people have ordered over £30 worth and others under a tenner.
On the menu, our sea bass was listed as having lettuce with it. So, I was a happy teddy bear when it arrived just the feta short of a Greek Salad! I saved the olives until last as I love those balls of delight!
I forgive that the edge of our sea bass was a little overcooked, as the rest was good. A small but understandable gripe was that we had waited so long for it to arrive (due to the large group and that it is quicker to cook sea bass than the other orders, so it makes sense to serve it last), that we were had difficulty finishing it as we were so full up from eating the yummy bread that some of our friends gave us from their plates whilst waiting for our order. The person next to us had finished before we even got ours! But with likely only one or two chefs it would have been impossible to serve a table of 17 within a couple of minutes. They certainly tried their best though and did so in a logical way rather than simply in strict order of order taking.
There is indoor and outdoor seating. The inside lavatories are not accessible but there is one outside, within the café fence that...
Read moreOrdered a Greek Salad at 6:30pm via UberEats, 7 drivers went up to the restaurant and waited for around 5-10 minutes each and then declined the order. I call the restaurant and the guy says that my order has left 10 minutes ago(after 7 drivers cancelled my order). I just don't see the point of them lying to the paying customer about a salad. 2 hours later a courier comes and says that the address of the restaurant is wrong and all of the previous drivers went to a wrong address to pick up my order 😂😂😂 Absolute joke, never again, they could've told me the truth and I would've gone and pick...
