This is the 3rd New Years Eve we have spent at Colosseo. When we arrived there were no highchairs. With an 18month old that needs a highchair, this made for a stressful night for my family. The staff did not seem apologetic that they couldn't provide chairs and just shrugged and said they ask the owner for 'many things, but we don't get them'. We eventually got given a highchair, which was dirty and had no straps, so it was not safe. We were sat upstsirs, so it wasn't ideal to let the baby wander due to stairs down and also the steps up to the little raised upstairs area. It ruined the evening for us as we couldn't relax because we could not contain the little one safely. One parent had to wander around with the baby to keep her settled. Subsequently, we did not stay for desert, further drink, or coffee. As a family Italian restaurant I would expect them to be able to cater for babies in highchairs. You can't go wrong with an Ikea highchair, I have even seen some highchairs for sale on George ASDA for ÂŖ15! The girls who waited on the table were lovely and the food (except mine - salmon pasta which was very greasy), was nice. We will more than likely not come again until we know there are sufficient high chairs which is disappointing as other than the highchair issue we really have enjoyed...

After a long hike, me and my partner came to Casanova's as the only place open in Hayfield that night. It was packed inside, the staff running around and we sat outside where it was quieter. Our waiter for the evening, Bachi, was attentive and came to take our drinks order immediately. We could see how busy he and others were, but even still he never left us waiting. We had two rounds of cocktails, unique and delicious! Ordering food was simple, lovely and wow the goats cheese stuffed mushrooms were delicious! The dough used to make the pizzas, garlic bread and calzones was authentic and had a deep and rich taste. Along with the toppings, the food was amazing. You can tell that they cared about the quality of their food. The service, apart from being quick and attentive, was on another level. Bachi never hesitated to make our meal and service better than any other place. As the sun set, he even brought out blankets when he could see we were getting cold. When some midges bothered our meal, he moved us in an instant to where we wouldn't be bitten more. Bachi was kind, generous and friendly. Could not have wished for a happier or more helpful waiter. We were both satiated after our meal and feeling happier for the...

I just have to review this fine Bar and Restaurant. I visited Colloseo on my own to dine and did not know what to expect, WOW, absolutely fantastic, the food was amazing, Perfect, in fact. This has to be right up there at the top of my list of best tasting fillet steaks. The garlic bread with cheese was beautiful also, not at all greasy and very well made. The staff were really friendly, helpful and polite. Even though It was really very busy, the owner still found time to take a seat at my table after I had finished, to have a little chat with me. Really made me feel welcomed. I was really very impressed all around and could not recommend Colloseo highly enough, I loved the whole experience so much that I even booked a table for myself and my wife on my birthday. Just so you know, I live 55 miles away, but I am well prepared to travel to dine there again. I was served by Marioss, and he was on top of his game. 100% 10 out of 10, 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 from me. Looking forward to going again some time soon. Many thanks to the...

We went to Colosseo last night as a special evening before our baby comes along on Friday! We have been before so knew the food would be spot on! And it didn't let us down! The food is so fresh and delicious. We had the ribs to share for a starter as well as some garlic bread. The ribs were in such a flavourful sauce, I would highly recommend these as a starter. For mains I had the homemade meatballs and my partner had the calzone with Bolognese sauce, both were gorgeous! The staff on arrival were really friendly as always . However the music was so loud we couldn't really hear each other talk. The service was good, we didn't wait ages for food , however we did have to wait a while for drinks and to get attention from waiters to order more drinks even though our empty glasses had been there for a while, even when they brought food to the table. I ordered water at the beginning and had to ask 3 times before we actually received it. However it didn't dampen our evening and we still had a nice time . :)

What a lovely restaurant! We'd been wanting to come here for dinner for a while but ended up popping in during a walk for a light lunch, and were greeted warmly and sat outside on the terrace. We ordered a few small plates, including caprese salad which was super fresh and with the tastiest tomatoes. The calamares was huge and tasted fantastic. Finally the gambas with lemon and chilli which was UNREAL. The bread had soaked up all of the marinade and it was absolutely delicious, the prawns were huge. The service couldn't be faulted with very attentive staff and chatty, very reasonable prices too. Looking forward to coming back for dinner and trying more dishes.
