Staying on the nearby Campsite, and fancied some fish & chips, so visited the local chippy..... and wished I hadn't upon being told they had no haddock, settled for a jumbo battered sausage, chips and gravy The chips were awful, rock hard and overcooked, the gravy was tepid & lumpy, and the sausage was undercooked, and coated in a batter which tasted burnt and which was as nearly awful as the chips. Ordered haddock and chips but only had cod. Chips very hard, a little over cooked. Cod was fine, batter crispy but the oil needed changing as it tasted very fatty and was very yellow not pale. It was doused in salt and vinegar which still couldn’t hide the dirty oil taste unfortunately.
