Staying on the nearby Campsite, and fancied some fish & chips, so visited the local chippy..... and wished I hadn't upon being told they had no haddock, settled for a jumbo battered sausage, chips and gravy The chips were awful, rock hard and overcooked, the gravy was tepid & lumpy, and the sausage was undercooked, and coated in a batter which tasted burnt and which was as nearly awful as the chips. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!! (I highly recommend the nearby Italian, we went the next night and the staff were friendly, helpful and the food was far superior)

Had fish and chips, had change from a fiver!, fish freshly fried, only had to wait a few minutes. Very small portions, chips were poor, fish was ok, but would pass for a 'mini's fish elsewhere. Get what you pay for I guess.

Fries: quite good, but not the best ever (as some reviewers suggest) Fish: good quality fish, but very greasy. Nice owner. Be aware that this is a cash only shop. I got money from the store just across the road, so no problem in the end. You pay 5 pounds for either haddock or cod and 2 pounds for a...

Ordered haddock and chips but only had cod. Chips very hard, a little over cooked. Cod was fine, batter crispy but the oil needed changing as it tasted very fatty and was very yellow not pale. It was doused in salt and vinegar which still couldn’t hide the dirty oil taste unfortunately.

I wouldn’t...
