An AMAZING experience at Deacons Bank. We came because we spotted this restaurant on the Michelin guide & it surpassed our pretty high expectations. All food was perfectly done, menus had a good range of choice for each course without being overwhelming. I had the baron bigod cheesecake, venison & white chocolate parfait, which were phenomenal, & we also had complimentary delicious goats cheese canapés. Definitely worthy of their Michelin guide & AA rosettes. It’s £50pp for their 3 course set menu which I would say is fantastic value & underpriced for the quality of food you get. A huge note has to also go to the service - we made a mishap when editing our original booking, and managed to unwittingly move our booking to two weeks later, which we only realised when we arrived at the restaurant. Thankfully the restaurant manager Lisa was able to arrange a table in their back room & we were served attentively all evening, even visited by the owner at one stage. We felt so welcomed by all staff even though this must have been a real pain to manage. We will definitely be back - thanks to all at Deacons Bank for a...

We had a meal here this evening for my Wife's 40th birthday, but unfortunately, having spent £140, I can't help but feel massively disappointed by the experience.

On arriving we were told the heating wasn't working and a small fan heater was placed at the end of our table.

We should have left at this point, but since it was a special occasion we persisted. The temperature didn't improve, and I'm confused as to why a large woodburner in the restaurant remained unlit!?

I can't help but wander why our booking wasn't cancelled ahead of time if the heating wasn't working (We were the only people in the restaurant between 7-9pm)

No offer of complimentary drinks or discount to compensate for it being freezing cold. The waiter even joked that he bet we wished we'd kept our jackets on! If it was my business I would feel embarrassed.

I made a booking here based on a positive reviews and recommendation from a friend in Chapel, but it didn't meet expectations.

I will say the food was fantastic, but we struggled to fully appreciate it based on the...

Our first visit to Deacons, we were a party of 4 and we all had a great night The restaurant is smart and has a nice buzzy atmosphere, I gave it 4 stars as I would have liked it a little darker, personal choice tho The glass vestibule is a nice touch, keeps the drafts out We were welcomed straight away, important, as I hate to be stood there looking lost! The guys had the Kirrin beer, went down v well and we had a bottle of the new Zealand sauv blanc, decent and not bad at £36ish Bout 6 starters and 6 mains and all sounded tempting, we were bought Japanese milk bread and black garlic butter, delish I had the game terrine, then the venison, both came with all sorts of garnish and sauces, v tasty, the venison v tender, attaching a photo of the menu so won't go thru it all All the staff were friendly and efficient, a special mention for the head waitress?, was sure she must have gone to catering college, v self assured, knew what she was doing, hadnt gone to college tho, just a natural at it😁 Will recommend the...

This is as good as dining gets. Five of us had the Tasting Menu, and two had the matched wines. Everything worked, plus one of our party, could not eat shellfish, and the replacement was brilliant. Staff were wonderful, not pushy, not superier just service when you wanted it. Good speed through the eight courses. Cannont compliment the staff (and owners enough). Chef was pretty wonderful as well. Thanks.

I took my wonderful Mama for lunch today at Deacons Bank. It was a truly zen experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was exceptional. A special mention to Simon the wonderfully talented head chef and Sara, whom with her beautiful , charismatic and gentle approach was lovely to have as a part of our experience. My husband and I have certainly found our new ‘date night’ spot. 🩷
