I thought the interior of this pub was beautiful, old classics are always a winner in my books. Hardworking and polite staff are always a bonus and the majority were a delight to encounter....cept one. I forget her name but I believe by her uniform is that of a manager....small in height and slight in build with a face of thunder and an attitude to match. I thought it was just me but many of my group felt the same....clearly her customer relations training fell by the way.
The food offering was vast and in some part not worth the money they price it at, considering most of their produce comes from a famous frozen food retailers we all know and sometimes love. Yes the food is freshly cooked but it's not fresh food unless you purchase a salad.....the menu is far to big to expect more. I wouldn't call it delious. ..... if I had mad an effort to walk across the road im sure I could have found food that was fresh and worth the money.
Critiquing over.....I would go back again as the place is lovely as well as the staff (bar the 'Out of season Grinch') who are friendly and...
Read moreI have been to this establishment many times. It is a firm favourite with Local Councillors in Hyndburn. However my experience on the evening of Friday June 23rd compelled me to write this review.I am absolutely thrilled with the staff on duty on that evening. My friend had a funny turn whilst in the toilets (she didn't tell me she hadn't eaten) and the staff were absolutely remarkable in their dealing with it.They kept it under the radar so my friend didn't feel uncomfortable,to the point that suddenly whilst in the beer garden area a big bowl of chips and some bread arrived at our table.I told them we had not ordered to which they responded that this was with compliments to ensure my friend had eaten.I do not think you can teach that level of service and I think the staff on duty that evening should be commended by the management. On top of a first rate service they have a great range of beers and great food.Thank you to the staff we will always return here and I can confidently say I think this pub does so well in no small part because of the work...
Read moreIt is a reasonably priced pub and in keeping with the rest of the Wetherspoons chain. It is a very popular pub with all ages both for the food and wide range of drinks available for the customers. It's busy throughout the day and evening and the raucousness rises and falls as the various groups come and go in their varying states of inebriation and bonhomie. Which brings me to a point of annoyance, the disabled toilet is on the ground floor and the normal toilets are on the floor above, but most of the regulars don't go there they all use the disabled toilet. Disabled people have to wait and put up with wet seats and urine on the floor as well as non disabled people banging on the door for the truly disabled person to hurry up and get out. I have complained to the bar staff but it makes little difference as it all reverts to the antisocial, selfish people...
