East Ocean — Restaurant in Ipswich

We love going to East Ocean! The food is great and the staff is amazing. We tried the Set Meal for 2 on this visit and was surprised. There was no doubt on the quality and taste but surprised about the portion. It was more than enough for 2 people. Started with Sesame Prawn Toast, Smoked Chicken, Vegetarian Spring Rolls, Satay Chicken on Skewers. The main comes with rice & chow mein and we got to choose 3 mains we chose lemon chicken, duck in bean sauce and stir fried mix sea food. We were stuffed by the end of dinner but thought of ordering both the pineapple and banana fritters to take home and enjoy. They are still implementing safe and distanced setting and clean and sanitize the tables after every use. Could not recommend this place enough. And we will keep coming...

Meat was tender and good quality, however, we feel cheated over the quantity of food Vs amount paid. £35 paid and portions were so small. We always have Chinese food leftover after an order but from here, we had nothing left over with this order, not even a prawn cracker! If I'm honest, food wasn't particularly flavoursome either. A bit below average in taste. Crackers were also stale and much of it was cold by the time it arrived. I think they have been so busy that it affected their service. Sadly won't be coming back here...

My partner and I went to this restaurant for my Birthday meal and were charged £24.00 for a cold meal, even though obviously warmed up but just not hot enough, that was tasteless and stale. We only gave them £20 but now we regret paying a penny for this rubbish! I'm sure the staff would not eat this bad quality food, but they showed no interest at all in our comments or the amount we gave them , almost as if they couldn't care less. What an end to my Birthday, I just hope this stops other people from suffering...
