My second review of this superb restaurant. The first review was based on eating in. Tonight we had food delivered. We ordered chicken chow main, chicken and pineapple, chilli beef, Satay chicken on skewers, plain rice and prawn crackers. The food, once again, was perfect. The chilli beef, although not as saucy as from our ‘normal’ Chinese takeaway, was delicious. Well flavoured, perfect crispy, not overly powerful with chilli. The chow mein was superb, the rice, fresh and sticky, the satay chicken was perfect and the chicken and pineapple was very tasty. I used to have it when I was younger and I’ve not ordered it from anywhere for a long time. It was a good decision to order it from here tonight. The food was delivered on time according to the countdown on the website, and when it did, it was fresh and hot. We will definitely be ordering from here again and I will be encouraging my friends and family around Ipswich to do the same. Thanks again. Have a...
Read moreThis is quite simply the worse Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. The ingredients weren’t fresh, and the cookery was just very poor. There was no authentic taste to the dishes and they had no visual appeal; for all intense and purposes I felt we were being served slop. The interior of the restaurant is unloved and is need of a refurbishment. This is all so very sad. 25 years ago I remember the restaurant as a competitor to Trongs. There was a pride and love to the food and the service was upmarket and professional. Back then, all the staff wore a similar attire, the tables had crisp fresh white lined, food was always well presented and cooked with fresh ingredients and an obvious passion for cookery. Unfortunately, I think the restaurant is trying to survive with the buffet restaurant nearby and as such they’ve prioritised quantity over quality. This is such a...
Read moreIf I had gone to eat there, I would probably have given them five stars. But I didn't go to eat, I went to collect a takeaway. I ordered and paid online but when I went it wasn't ready. No big deal you think, just wait like in all the other takeaways. Trouble is, they don't have a waiting area. They suggested I sit at a table in the restaurant and wait, so I did, for the next ten to fifteen minutes. But the restaurant was full of eating in customers, I was the only person waiting and watching a hundred others eat their meals. Dressed like a building site labourer I felt like a right sore thumb, I was hungry and being tortured by having to smell and see everyone else eating theirs. I won't be getting a takeaway from them again, which is a shame because the food was really good. Next time we will either eat in the restaurant or get a takeaway...
