Wow. What can I say. The pop up Tapas evening was superb from start to finish and absolutely faultless. Service and food top notch. Usually served outside but as can happen on a UK summer evening wind and rain put a stop to that. We ate upstairs inside which was lovely. Large floor to ceiling windows and it was quite nice to be cosy inside whilst watching the wind and rain on the River Orwell Everything you need to know about the menu is explained when you arrive. The dishes are all big enough to share and some come with bread to mop up all the delicious flavours..we wanted to order everything from the menu as it all sounded excellent.. but were advised to start of with 4 dishes between the 2 of us and see how we felt.. sound advice this was as the portions are generous and you'll want to eat every last mouthful. To begin we had complimentary olives which were infused with green chilli. Great quality and tasty. The large grilled prawns with garlic and chilli were cooked to perfection and sweet. The mixed meats and manchego cheese came with warm bread and 4 bowls of delicious condiments. Homemade garlic mayo,Ā  tomato with olive oil and garlic,Ā  thick balsamic glaze and tasty olive oil. The chicken dish was succulent pieces of chicken that fell of the bone with crispy chicken skin delicately flavoured with chilli. Like a pimped up roast chicken.Ā  The chorizo cooked in cider came with lentils and a soft fried egg on top again plenty more bread to mop up all the lovely sauces. The timing of each dish was perfect clearly these guys know what they're doing. Empty plates taken away promptly. Attentive and really personable service. The wine was good and beers served in chilled glasses from the freezer to keep it super cold. We took a pause as wanted to order more.. but were beaten..well we made room to share a pastel de nata and chocolate caramel cake with a perfect black coffee. An excellent evening. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes we didn't have room for. We couldn't leave a tip as didn't have cash only card and enjoyed it so much I visited the next day just to drop off the missing tip. I would've had another coffee and cake but they weren't any free tables. Another day for sure. What a gem of a place,Ā  LOVED IT! I

I’ve been meaning to visit here for a while now, as always hear good things & it’s always busy when I walk past. I wasn’t disappointed! Mu friend and I visited on a Sunday morning in November, around 11.30. Luckily we got the last available table! Which was outside, with a lovely view. It was a warm morning, but there were blankets just incase. I went for Smoked salmon Pan De Cristal & added a poached egg. Really generous portion size and a generous amount of tasty salmon, fresh rocket etc. I really liked the dill oil on my bread, absolutely lovely! šŸ˜‹ To drink I had a tea ā˜•ļø (Pictured) My friend had Chicken Pan De Cristal and a smoothie. I’ve added a photo. Really nice atmosphere, you’re not rushed at all. Friendly staff, especially the owner, who has a great sense of humour. He made me laugh when he told my Spanish friend how to order 😊 An absolute Gem! I can see why it’s always packed! See you again soon 😊

Beautiful location with delicious food and a warm welcome. Watching the owner was like watching a mini-masterclass in good hospitality; greeting regulars and newcomers alike with the same genuine and warm welcome. Service like that goes a long way to make you feel a valued customer, and that’s clearly a big priority here! I enjoyed my avocado toast with rocket & toasted seeds, sans egg as I wanted it to be vegan. I was advised to try the vegan feta instead, and after my hesitation I was glad I did! The chef apparently marinades the feta in oil and spices and it was a tasty extra addition! (I even took some cubes home for my evening salad!) My OH enjoyed his breakfast ā€œpan de Cristalā€, along with soya latte and a peach smoothie. It was lovely to sit upstairs in the sunny room overlooking the marina. Will definitely return!

Allergy modification declined and given a poor excuse. I have always championed the grazing sheep for their breakfast. Their menu has changed since I’ve been back and states they can make adjustments due to dietary restrictions at the top of their menu. I asked for the salmon classic breakfast but an egg instead of Greek yoghurt as I’m allergic to dairy, I felt this was not a large request or substitute . The waitress didn’t seem to believe I had an allergy and said she would ā€œtry to ask the chef he seems in a ok mood today so may make this adjustmentā€ this was flat out declined by the chef due to them being one chef down in the kitchen and there was only two of them. The waitress came and told us this and therefore what it states on their menu is not true. I was extremely disappointed as they weren’t that busy. I was happy to wait and ended up having to have something I didn’t first choose. As a paying customer and someone who has allergies I was really sad to see no accommodations could be made as they used to be so good at this, this ruined the dining experience for me . Sadly I won’t...

We arrived to get some lunch. An outside table became free and my wife went inside to check we could sit there. The owner gave her a menu and told her to wait at the table and someone would come to clean it. We sat down. A waiter came out shouting in our general direction in Spanish how no one listens, etc. the owner then came out an proceeded to scold us for not listening as we had sat down. We decided both were far too rude for us to stay and I advised him of this. As we were leaving the waiter proceeded to shout across the tables at us. Both my wife, daughter and I were shocked at the level of rudeness. Business must be good! You need to teach your staff some manners. If someone hasn’t heard you properly there is no need to have your waiter be rude about it. I’m stunned you employ someone who behaves in this way but judging by your own behaviour it makes sense. Shouting at customers across multiple tables. Someone less restrained will have him in the river. I’ve brought overseas guests here....
