Fancied a little treat today en route to get a mobility scooter & seeing it was accessible visited Waitrose in store café. No cheese & ham toasties, no Emmental & ham croissants & this was at 1pm. Settled on coffee & cake as we were there & the queue was long. Had my lemon & Sultana danish which was nice & decided to stir my Mocca as it had been sat a while. I felt a 'clump' in the bottom of the cup & thinking it was chocolate kept stirring. When it didn't dissolve I removed the teaspoon to discover a big glob of blu tac.... Suffice to say my husband returned the offending item, was issued a refund & a replacement Mocca. The staff seemed genuinely concerned & apologetic however, had I not stirred my coffee I could easily have swallowed or choked on the blu tac. Read moreCame yesterday for lunch. Fishfinger bap lukewarm and very overcooked, not enough tartar sauce. Burger lukewarm. Cup of tea cold by the time the food came. You used to get both the food items with chips and side salad ...now all separate and that information hidden on the menu board by a very high stack of cups so we missed out on that. Sorry but nice atmosphere food disappointing....
