Recently deliveries have taken a lot longer than normal with the longest time being 1hr 35 mins from time of order. In that particular order, the pizzas were not fully cooked as well. I sent two emails about this but did not receive any response. I also attempted to call the shop but got through to a full mailbox. Finally I decided to respond to them on a social media post but still received no response.
This evening we decided to order again. The text confirmation we received states food should be delivered within the hour. After waiting 65 minutes I called to check on the order status… The pizzas were not yet in the pizza oven. The staff member mentioned that they were very busy, but customers should not receive lesser service based on how busy you are. At peak times, more staff/drivers can be employed to cover the increased demand. At least I was able to get through to the restaurant this time, rather than the mailbox full message. He mentioned that we would get the pizzas in 30 mins and this was correct as the pizzas were delivered after waiting 1h 35mins again. The delivery driver was very apologetic. The issue was not his though, but it was nice to see he was aware of the delay. The pizzas we received were great so it was nice to see the quality of the food was back to normal.
I requested a partial refund and they did grant us a 25% (which we have not yet received, but expect it to take a few days). I don’t think we will order from Giuseppes again as this has happened more than once in the last few weeks so this is an ongoing issue and I believe it will not be resolved in the short term. Outside of these recent issues, the pizzas are good and I would recommend them, but only if you are in Ards and able to order/pickup from the store. I ordered three 'make-your-own' pizzas, one folded, for collection at 19:55 - I placed the order around 19:25 so this seemed very reasonable. However when I got there a few minutes early, I noticed the person I spoke to had to check on the time for my order. He then told me another five minutes, but I noticed, due to the open plan of the kitchen (which is really cool), the staff started to make my three pizzas. This is unfortunate, but they were very busy as it was peak time on a Saturday night.
I waited maybe another 20 minutes longer, until I noticed another two members of staff discussing my receipt/order. They had made the folded pizza as a standard base one, and wanted to know if that was okay - again, a bit of a shame, but it wasn't too big a deal to me, and I agreed to take them as they were. Throughout the whole thing, staff were very friendly regardless of a few hitches. It's worth mentioning they provided me with a bag for some chilled cans of juice I was holding, as well as offering to help me to the car with my fairly large order.
Service aside, my pizza tasted amazing, and I will be getting the same thing again in the future for sure. The pizza is proper pizza, and is miles better than anywhere else I can think of in the area. As for any sides, they were fine. I got two chips - one bolognese and one cheese/bacon. The chips were nothing special and we didn't eat all of them between us, but the pizzas were more than enough. The garlic butter and garlic mayo dips we got were also really good.
Looking forward to ordering again, although we'll maybe try to do so at a less busy time....
Read morePizzas were good, never had a problem with the service until it was late one night and a driver with blonde hair I think, quite chubby that has delivered for years brought me my food, it looked like there had been 1-2 slices taken out and one smaller slice put in I instantly opened the door and give the driver the food back and asked him about a replacement he then follows that up by telling me that the restaurant is closed and I could not contact for another pizza I contacted and the manager give me my food directly, but the manager said the driver returned with a full pizza which didn’t even look like the one I had received from the picture the one in the pic was fine and I would have had no reason to return it, that was no hassle, now I ordered and the person on the other side of the phone had missed that I said gluten free so I returned the pizza only to have the manager phone me back and tell me I would have to pay for another pizza on-top of the one I had already sent back as it is wasting toppings and it is the second incident to this address, no the first incident was your driver and this was a simple misunderstanding that could have been easily resolved. But now it had ended up with me waiting an hour and a half from the time I ordered fro them just to return my money anyway, I need to watch when I eat and what food I eat and they done absolutely nothing at all, now this will have me up most of the night as I still haven’t eaten anything, I can say for sure it’s the last time I’ll be...
