Thai Journey Restaurant is next to the Model Village (separate glowing review) in the lovely traditional village of Godshill. There is a 24 hour free-to-park Isle of Wight Council car park a short walk away, but be aware that some small sections from the car park to the restaurant have no pedestrian pavement. However, it is a 20mph zone and drivers are considerate and aware, in our experience. Plus, there is space directly outside the restaurant to either park, or stop to unload, if required. Thai Journey Restaurant looks like a quaint cottage from the outside, but is magnificent inside, in a subtle yet opulent style. Dr Who fans: just think Tardis as the space immediately opens out as you enter through the front door! So, first impressions? Amazing welcome from staff, in a lovely straightforward style. Service at the table? Impeccable! At all times and at every stage. Food? OMG. Absolutely 💯 divine ✨️ 😍 💖 ❤️ 💕 🙌🏻 This is a true Thai 🇹🇭 treasure to behold! Wow 🤩 Prices? Excellent value 👏 Let's consider the quality of the food. Fresh ingredients, superbly curated, meals that leave you feeling nourished and energised, not bloated or too full. Service. Ambience. Atmosphere. Location. Amazing 👏 This unassuming but exceptional restaurant will continue to flourish ✨️ because it hits the golden spot for diners in every direction. Best Thai food we've ever had, and that's from the point of view from someone who's eaten in plenty of restaurants in Thailand 🇹🇭 We will return, there is absolutely no doubt about that! And, thank you to all the staff at Thai Journey Restaurant, including kitchen, chef, front-of-house, service staff et al. You do an...
Read moreMy first visit to the Thai Journey today and I'll definitely be coming back. Warm, friendly service and delicious food were the highlights of our visit to this recently opened Thai restaurant with a modern menu with plenty of Thai staples but also alternatives from the usual Pad Thai and Green Curry regulars. I had a superb sweet and sour Bean Curd, the sauce was a far cry from the standard pink sludge often served, a delicate yet well flavoured sauce accompanied with just al-dente vegetables and deep fried Bean Curd so well prepared that I had to check it really wasn't a fine cut of pork, really outstanding. My companions had similar success with their Pad Thai, Beef and Chicken Curry, all really well prepared, flavoured and presented. We didn't have starters this time but certainly will next time as there were many that looked really tempting. Even the puddings were a step above the average with a delicious filo pastry baked ice cream a highlight. Simple, pleasent decor, looked like they would have outside tables in the summer though not confirmed. I'm sure as word spreads this will become a really popular destination restaurant, just the sort of place we need more of in the IOW, highly...

I don’t even know where to begin with our appalling experience at Thai Journey on the Isle of Wight. My wife and I were looking forward to a nice meal, but what we got instead was treatment so shocking it’s hard to believe. Despite the restaurant being at most a third full, we were turned away without a second thought, as if we were stray dogs.
The two waitresses who confronted us acted more like bouncers throwing out customers from a nightclub than servers in a restaurant. Their sheer arrogance, rudeness, and lack of basic courtesy were staggering. It was clear that they took great joy and glee in dismissing us, and their abilities as waitresses were so limited it was embarrassing. They seemed completely uninterested in seating us or offering any form of service.
We left without even being given the chance to order food, humiliated and disgusted. This place doesn’t deserve a single penny from anyone who expects to be treated like a valued customer. If you want to experience the worst customer service on the Isle of Wight, look no further. Thai Journey will deliver in all...
