After travelling 200+ miles to have a family Christmas meal, we were highly disappointed. - upon arrival we were showed to our reserved table, and to our surprise someone had decided to sit eat their meal alone (on a table booked for 7 people) - my husbands meal (steak and ale pie) was cold, flat and soggy. - my daughters meal (scampi and chips) the scampi and chips were cold and greasy, her mashy peas were cold and skinned over. - we received another tables children's meal (chicken dippers, waffles and peas) when we ordered chicken dippers, chips and beans. - another children's meal, burger chips and beans, the burger and chips were cold - small carvery was disgusting, no fresh veg, all turning brown and soggy, the only edible veg was the peas, and they were stone cold. - my father's meal was just vile!! to the point it was left untouched. for £78 the only edible meal was my step mum's tomato soup. it is safe to say my family ill not be returning as this is not the first issue my father has had with your establishment. also not a single member of staff were wearing ppe (masks)

Hi I don't know if this is of any interest to you but I have just visited the silver birch at Cleckheaton and as a vegan I was impressed with the menu options. I ordered the vegan burger that is topped with pulled jackfruit....it came out and it was pulled pork....we asked to see the chef and the waitress said the chef can not see us due to hygiene and they promised it was jackfruit after the waitress took the food to the chef and returned with a 10 pound note .... I know the difference jackfruit is very sweet and does not have fatty skin and bits of fat. I was offered another burger but at this point I was no longer hungry. There was also butter served with the second vegan meal.....we felt they wouldn't acknowledge it was pork and showed a blue vacuumed pack that stated fruit topping and claimed they used one of these but no evidence of an empty packet. They then offered vegan ice cream to make up for it.

Popped in for a late evening carvery (20.2.22) & it was lovely to see the place busy. First visit back after its renaming & we will definitely be returning! The place is clean & tidy. The staff are smartly dressed, friendly & accommodating. The food was amazing. We all had a cavery & it was delicious. Beautiful meat, fresh veggies & hot thick homemade gravy šŸ˜‹ My husband choose to go large & in return got extra slices of meat, a GIANT Yorkshire pud & stuffing! The Yorkshire pudding was like a meal in its self! Absolutely fabulous! The puddings were also to die for! A little rebranding, a tidy up & new staff is all that was needed. The Bobbin Carrier definitely deserves to be given a second chance by others. We (especially our daughter) can't wait to return 😁

Been today at 4pm as our last visit a couple of weeks ago was really enjoyable with good food and friendly staff. Still friendly staff but the carvery was really poor. Ā£9.69 for a small slice of dry turkey, a part slice of beef that was 2/3 fat and the end of the gammon joint that was 7/8 fat. I was advised they had plenty of meat in the kitchen but this was to be used up first. Take away the fat and it would almost have been a plant based carvery! The veg choice included sloppy lumpy mash which the chap before me in the queue thought was Smash as it splattered on his plate, the remnants of the roast potatoes, so in other words the ones others didn’t want and the dried out bits of the dauphinoise potatoes baked onto the ovenware dish. The usual beautiful tasty gravy was a thick, tasteless gloopy mess. In fairness, after I raised my concerns to the lack and poor quality of the meat, the manager offered to replace it. I refused as to be totally honest, I shouldn’t need to complain to get an edible meal, the standard of the quality and the quantity should be as consistent as a joint of meat can be. I was also offered a free drink or dessert but didn’t feel comfortable walking around the restaurant looking for the manager to request a freebie. As there are pubs/restaurants within a few hundred yards of the Bobbin Carrier offering a carvery at a similar price I will probably try them in future, I now understand why the one we drove past at the top of the hill...

I had a special voucher giving my 30% off my food bill as I have never been to this place before, to be honest I was surprised how close it is to me so we thought we would give it a try. The parking was great and we were really looking forward to a birthday meal. On entering it looked great and there was two young ladies behind the counter. We waited at the bar for a while however I was not approached at all and couldnt understand why not as both of the ladies didnt appear to be that busy. We were not offered a menu or approached to buy drinks. We did have a look at the menu which we got ourselves but still not approached by anyone. I couldnt believe this so we ended up putting down the menus and walking out. To be honest I cannot rate the food, but the customer service was bad enough to make us feel unwelcomed especially on a birthday meal. We ended up going across the road to another pub, and were greeted straight away by a friendly girl who showed us straight to a table and took our drinks order. Such a shame though as we wasted a voucher at this pub. Just a tip ... Please acknowledge future customers and make them feel special, its the little touches that make all...

Went in today (Sunday) looking for some pub grub, heard lots of great things about the place so was excited to try. Walked in and instead of a friendly greeting and seating we were told to walk around the corner to grab our own kids menus. After seating we looked through the menu and ordered. The lady on the till was lovely, a couple orders had adjustments (no sauce/salad) and this didn’t seem to be an issue, Ā£60 later the order was placed. Food came out very quick, the lady bringing them practically threw the plates at us, the nacho sharer with extra pulled pork was lovely but definitely not worth the Ā£13-14 pound, the hunters chicken was dry and had very little barbecue, the ultimate southern fried burger had to be sent back as we requested it with no bbq and it was covered in it, when it came back out it was dry, dense and flavourless with very minimal bacon for the price. The young one had little complaints with his meal, the chicken wings were good and the cheeseburger came out plain like we asked it although did look tough. Didn’t even bother with deserts and went to the Greggs across the road, cheaper...
