Greggs — Restaurant in Kirklees

As an (almost) ex-employee of this store I would personally like to thank all of the wonderful customers it has been both my pleasure and privilege to serve over the last 14 months in our store.

I am sorry to hear of some peoples experiences and would like to take this opportunity to humbly address a couple of them.

As we are just off the motorway we are classed as motorway services and as such we have slightly extended opening hours. Unfortunately this fact also means the prices are a little higher (not twice as expensive as any city centre stores though I am sure) BUT as many of you have said my colleagues offer a lovely,friendly smiling service throughout the day and we will go out of our way to ensure you leave us all as happy bunnies LOL !

We bake products fresh throughout the day but as I am sure people are aware, items such as the vegetarian options do not always fly off the shelves quite as quickly as the others hence they are not always hot. If you have the time to wait in our comfortable seating area we will happily bake your item for you in around 15 minutes if we have some left to bake and providing the ovens have not been switched off of course. They have to cool down considerably before they can have their end of day spa treatment you see lol !

We are occasionally asked if we can re-heat a product but we are unable to do this, due to Food Standards Agency rules. We have had the occasional customer who arrives quite close to closing time and are disappointed that there are no hot pastries left at that time. This is generally speaking due to our efforts to minimise food waste which is surely not a bad thing ?

To the contributor who stated the breakfast corn top rolls were half the usual size of any other Greggs. I assure you that all Greggs stores are supplied with the same ones. I am sorry you did not enjoy the sausages either. I personally think they are rather tasty but we are all different at the end of the day.

Someone stated that they had to wait too long to be served. Apologies for this but we are an extremely busy little store and do our very best to work our way through the queues as quickly as is humanly possible, which is what we are after all lol !!

To the gentleman and his apprentice who stated they were both poorly and mentioned contacting environmental health. I sincerely hope you both recovered quickly are none the worse for it ? If you are ever ill from eating at ours or indeed any other establishment I would indeed encourage you to contact them if you feel this to be the correct course of action for you. I can however assure you that we do hold a 5* hygiene rating from Kirklees environmental health department of which we are very proud. Our store and all the equipment therein is thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis, with interim cleaning though out the whole day.

In conclusion, I know I am proud of our little store and feel sure that my colleagues would say the same. I shall miss them all and our wonderful manager, Jacob, but no doubt I shall be popping in to see them from time to time, you don't get rid of me THAT...

It's a difficult one really because it's Greggs and that's always a winner. You know what you're getting here, decent grub and not a hamburger in sight. Parking can be a challenge, but persistence is key. Avoid sticking to only the marked bays. If you're in a rush, chance your arm on a disabled slot, if you don't someone in a range rover will anyway; so treat yourself. Unfortunately, being just off the motorway, you're paying motorway prices. A pasty and a cookie will set you back north of four quid. That's spicy in today's money. My advice, don't worry about the cash, live in the moment. Just don't ask for a Cornish pasty, they had to stop making those because of political correctness gone mad....

Off all the, Greggs, I have had the pleasure of visiting in this one to say was the worst one l I have ever been to. Orderd a bacon butty, none ready. Ordered a sausage butty, none ready. Asked if any of the breakfast was available, none was the answer. So I ordered a steak back and a coffee which was amazing as it was available. Payed and received my steak bake and waited a few minutes for my coffee. Then I was asked what I was waiting for, maybe if you can serve me my coffee would be great....
