I had my 40th birthday fine Dinning last party at Royal City on 2nd March. It was indeed a splendid experience. The staff were so supportive, friendly, and very approachable. The food tastes great. The atmosphere was top notch, and to crown it all , they decorated my session with my choice colours. Went there with a friends family on Mother's Day, and we had a swell time. You do need to worry about car park as they have a massive parking space right at the restaurant location. I would recommend Royal City any time, any day. Please visit ROYAL CITY and thank me later.

Went to Royal City, all you can eat, with the in- laws, and was very satisfied. We did book a table but I am sure we would have been seated even if we hadn't. We tried a good portion of the starters and even ordered some more won ton. We had king prawn curry, (which I think was shrimp curry) which was very enjoyable, also beef in black bean and chicken in oyster sauce. Fried rice, noodles, garlic mushrooms and vegetables. And everything was very well prepared and tasted very nice. We left very full and happy, will return.

Nice friendly staff, nice atmosphere buffet style menu. Order your starters until your ready to move onto the main. Order your mains until your stuffed. The best thing is that all the food is cooked freshly and not stood for ages like in a normal style buffet restaurant. And all for £12.50 but they do close at 9pm so be early and we'll worth a visit

Royal City - A cosy restaurant

Royal city is located above two commercial shops, the venue isn't wheelchair friendly. Upstairs is a quaint "traditional" chinese restaurant feel, whereby it feels like it was last decorated in the 90's (personally i like that style, its refreshing) The restaurant however was fairly cold, we had to keep our coats on. There are small radiators dotted about but its not sufficient to heat the whole open plan upstairs. If the restaurant was full perhaps the collective body heat would suffice.

The service was good, the staff are nice and attentive, however the restaurant wasn't too busy

The food was okay, it feels worthy of 3 star but nothing more. Ingredients wise i've had more succulent ribs with more meat in the bone elsewhere. The crispy beef was just crisp The mushroom dish could be prepared better with button or chestnut mushrooms as the garlic sauce was good, but a basic cheap mushroom was used and sort of sloped together. Neither of us like the prawns that used, they just had a very very cheap taste and we couldn't finish those dishes. I wouldnt order any prawn dish again The savoury was okay, but also thin on the fillness level. Ive had more filled spring rolls from iceland! It would be good if they did their own large/medium sized spring rolls with varied fillings to stand out from the rest

If you're after a standard chinese buffet this place wont let you down, it'll be what you...

Last night, 21st Aug 21, was my First and Last time visiting this restaurant. We booked for 10 people to celebrate my mums Birthday but had a very bad experience. When we got there the staff looked at us in a funny way and were whispering to each other, we were rushed and were told they'll need the table back in an hour because we arrived 10mins late. The staff were ok but there was one particular very rude and unprofessional Chinese lady there who made it obvious that we weren't welcome there, was a horrible experience. She kept staring at our table during our entire visit, was very uncomfortable. After 30mins the staff came and whispered in my ear that they are bringing the cake because they need the table back and I said OK. I then requested for plates to share the cake and the Chinese lady gave us 2 small plates instead of 10. We were 10 in total at the table and anytime we ordered our food we were served 1 portion to share and it's meant to be a buffet. Never ever again am I visiting this restaurant. We spent £118 and left the place hungry. Was a very Bad and Horrific Experience for me...

Sorry Royal City but your food leaves a lot to be desired. Went with family to celebrate my husband's Birthday. On arrival found restaurant to be quaint and pleasant atmosphere although a waitress had to be reminded she was working whilst she sat streatching in a chair.

Ordered starters, sweet corn & chicken soup fine. Spring rolls not bad but a slight bitter taste of cabbage. Chicken satay, not on sticks but in a dish of sauce. Not sure what kind of chicken it was but it had a funny smell and taste almost like it had been washed with something., had to spit that out into a serviet so didn't risk ordering anything else with chicken. Beef curry and egg fried rice ok. Beef chow mein very oily. Crispy noodles strange just deep fried long noodles not what we expected.

Don't cater for children they basically had chips and soft noodles.

Ended up leaving place still hungry and £53 lighter. Not happy at all. Such a shame. Would have kept going back if it...
