The Shoulder of Mutton Mirfield — Restaurant in Kirklees

We are locals of the shoulder but due to our working patterns don't get a chance to eat here but we did a couple of weeks ago when we finished early so took the opportunity to sample the sizzler menu. My wife had the 20oz mega mixed grill sizzler & I opted for the festive pigs in blankets sizzler. Both came freshly cooked sizzling away on a hot skillet served on roasted peppers & onions with a tortilla wrap, corn cobette & amazing homemade chips it’s certainly not for the faint hearted. My wife looked like she had over done it with her choice and was going to ask to take some home but it was too good not to finish & I helped her polish it off. BEST HOMEMADE BURGER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. We came visiting from Canada, and although it was hard to understand the very strong Yorkshire accent, it was an absolute pleasure being in the company of the people inside. The barman was a jolly, kind man who went into the back and whipped up the juiciest, most delicious cheesy burger I’ve ever had. He had said that the meat is from a local butcher shop with quality meats, and he’s always made them the same.
