The Stanley Arms — Restaurant in Knowsley

LOVELY STAFF MEMBER BUT THE TOILETS WERE FILTHY AND THE THE CLEANER NEEDS TO CLEAN UNDER THE TOILET SEATS.

MYSELF AND A FRIEND WENT AT 10.30AM FOR OUR BREAKFASTS. WE WAITED AT LEAST A GOOD 5/7 MINS FOR A MEMBER OF STAFF TO EVEN APPEAR AND THERE WHILST WE WAITED A FURTHER 3 CUSTOMERS JOINED IN THE WAIT TOO.

THE CLEANER WAS JUST FINISHING CLEANING AND AFTER I VISITED THE TOILET HALF AN HOUR LATER THE TOILET SEATS WERE ALL STILL UP AND THEY WERE FILTHY AND THAT THEY HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED IN WEEKS AND WEEKS. QUITE ALARMING FOR A FAMILY PUB. I HATE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS BUT IF THEY DONT KNOW THEY WONT CHANGE OR ADDRESS THE ISSUES.

THE BREAKFASTS FINALLY CAME AND PLATES WERE WARMER THEN THE BREAKFAST ITSELF. THERE WAS ONLY 1 STAFF MEMBER ON AND COOK IN KITCHEN AND WE FELT IT WAS TOTALLY UNFAIR FOR ONE STAFF MEMBER TO BE HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE SERVING, THE TAKING ORDERS, THE CLEARING UP, THAT WE DIDNT WANT TO ADD PRESSURE TO HER BECAUSE SHE WAS LOVELY AND FRIENDLY AND SO WE POLITELY LEFT.

THERE IS A CAR PARK WITH A TICKET MACHINE BUT IT DOES NOT GIVE CHANGE AND STIPULATES IT BUT WHAT A CHEEK. ALTHOUGH YOU DO GET THE £1.00 REIMBURSED WHEN PLACING AN ORER. CRAZY IDEA BUT THATS IN MY OPINION.

THE WHOLE OUTSIDE NEEDS A GOOD CLEAN UP AND PRESSURE WASH THE FLAGS. ITS A FAMILY PUB. THERES AN ABUNDANCE OF TELLYS BUT MAYBE SOME MONEY BE BETTER SPENT ON THE SPRUCING UP OF THE IMMEDIATE OUTSIDE AREA. LOOKS ARE DECEIVING BECAUSE THE FRONT OF THE PUB LOOKS GRAND. OH AND A REFRESHER COURSE FOR...

The manageress said a while back that she didn't like me, to one of her staff. I was right in front of her but she seemed to think I couldn't hear. Today, I left a shirt behind. She asked if I had left a 'scarf or something'. Her tone was accusatory rather than friendly. People like her make me hate my life. I don't like this pub but it's local. It's not cheap. The food is good. I've never met a customer or member of staff I get on with. They're generally either grumpy old men or families out for a bland afternoon. I find the place snotty, too. No idea who they think they are. You can wait a long time to get served also, since the bar is frequently left unmanned.

If you're not a musician, artist, design student, or anyone with flair and the capacity to indulge in intelligent conversation, but rather a bit of a robot-type who is full of false politeness and the kind of drivel your lower middle-class parents used to spout when you were a kid, then this has to be the place for you and I'm sure you will be made to...

This place is a joke! First of all we payed at 18:45 for our food and they waited until 20:00 to tell us there was no rice for the curry. We ordered before many other people and they got their food before. Also our cutlery had food all over it. I'm not going to lie the only good thing out of this place is the waiters. They are actually nice people but the food and chefs are a joke. Annoying, shocking and discusting. This isn't even the first time this has happened and it's worse every time. Thanks to the waiters though. I feel bad on the way they are treated by the chefs. The drinks are good though that's why I'm rating this 2 stars. Good for coming to have drinks not for dinner. The chefs were the problem, they need to learn time management. Thank you to the staff member Joanne for helping us.She should be the new manager she will get this restaurant back to the way it should...
