Gold Star Chippy — Restaurant in Knowsley

Avoid this place at all costs. Worst fish & chips ever. The chips were disgusting. They were mostly inedible, hard and gray in colour, some were just black. I was told the fish was Cod, it very clearly wasn't. It looked more like a river cobbler. It was tasteless and very little of it. In fact, I lifted off the soggy awful batter to find half the fish was missing. It honestly looked like it was brought in frozen. How do you dip a fish in batter, then oil, when half is missing?? The curry sauce was lovely as were the staff. This garbage cost just over £10. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Taking people's hard earned money and serving this. Btw, I'm not a troll. Think they have a new chef because the food is consistently lovely . The chicken Shenzuan is spicy and the sauce is not a thick gloopy msg type if sauce. Prices have gone up but if the foods nice you dont mind.

The noodles used are the thin vermicelli type and I'd prefer the thicker egg noodles .

Tried the chicken and sweetcorn soup and it was very watery and not much taste but the hot and sour soup was smokey tasty with enough meat and sourness and not too sweet.

But very concentrated in flavour so added a bit of water to water it down. Lovely with prawn crackers.

The black bean beef was tasty as well and that was a bit concentrated as well so added bit of water to even out the flavours.

Would go back

Called for deluvery order at 6.30pm told they where very busy it would be 1hr. So said ok that's fine 2hrs still waiting 2•1/2hrs still no delivery so rang was told a lady was delivering now that was 8.50pm its now 9.45pm still no food delivered. Rang back to the chippy again was told sorry we haven't got an order for you then she said are you sure you are ringing the right chippy YES SO AT 9.45 AFTER WAITING 3HOURS 45MINS NO FOOD NO APOLIGY ... NOT...
