We were in Carnforth and needed lunch on a wet and windy Thursday afternoon. A high Google review score brought us to Cafe Edelweiss and it did not disappoint. We received a friendly and brisk welcome and sat down by the window. We were given menus and advised of the specials. We shared a big pot of tea and both had the excellent cheese and onion quiche from the specials. It was served with delicious coleslaw and fried potato slices. The quiche was among the best quiches I’ve ever eaten and the coleslaw had plenty of mayo which is often lacking, but certainly not here. There was a great range of desserts, cakes and tray bakes to choose from. We opted for fruit crumble and apple strudel. We were given a massive jug of custard to share. Both were excellent. Everything was really well priced. If we were to find ourselves in Carnforth again I would return here without question. Five stars. No notes. Just excellent from start to finish.

Lovely little corner site cafe to take the weight off your feet for an hour. Lovely decor, simple, interesting and tasteful with friendly pleasant and attentive staff. Very nice homemade cheesecakes etc to try, hard to make the right choice, you'll want to try them all 😉

Popped in for a very enjoyable breakfast today. The service was excellent. Although the cafe is slightly hidden away from the high street it is easily accessible being only a few yards from Booths car park where there is ample free parking.

What a delightful find! I recently visited this charming café for breakfast, and it was an absolute treat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with beautiful décor—think cozy wooden tables, elegant chandeliers, and lovely touches like plants and vintage signs on the walls. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal.

The food is all home-cooked, and you can really taste the care that goes into every dish. We had a hearty breakfast with perfectly toasted bread, fresh coffee, and a side of their delicious homemade jams—everything was fresh and flavorful. They also offer cakes and bakes, which looked tempting, but I was too full to try them (next time, for sure!). The service was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home.

The café is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., serving both breakfast and lunch, and it’s a great spot for a leisurely meal. The only minor thing I’d note is that it can get busy, so arriving early might be a good idea. But honestly, that’s just a testament to how wonderful this place is.

I can’t wait to come back—whether for breakfast, lunch, or one of those gorgeous cakes. Highly recommend to anyone...

Unfortunately having to leave a disappointing review after visiting several times with my nana. Previously the service and food has been amazing and couldn't fault it. Haven't visited in over a year and today our visit wasn't one to recommend or go back for. We both had breakfasts, one small one normal, the whole breakfast was very greasy and the bacon wasn't cooked great on mine, sausages were served sliced open not sure where the contents of the meat was. Service was good by some but one particular waitress just dumped our toast Infront of our faces and same for the cutlery. Sadly I think the food was bad before...
