McDonald's — Restaurant in Lancaster

We went to this McDonald’s on our way back. We ordered 3 large Big Mac deals and 1 large veggie meal along with 4 students McFlurry’s (1 oreo and 3 Malteser).

To start the girl on the mic either new or had no idea what she was doing. She completely got the order wrong which we tried correcting multiple times. She had changed it a few times but it was still wrong and when we tried to say that it was wrong she cut us off and just showed the total.

So we went round to the window and there was a lovely and helpful boy there. He corrected the order and apologised for the order being wrong. He is the only reason this gets a one star, the way he handled it was correct and professional! We think his name is Adam.

Then we got to the order window and they gave us 4 Oreo mcflurries instead of the 3 malteser and 1 Oreo. We explained to the girl that the order was wrong; she then turned to we assume the boy from the window and said “did they order malteser mcflurries” which was rude in itself. So then she goes so you just need 1 malteser McFlurry to which we corrected again it was three. We finally get the mcflurries.

However, this wasn’t the end we asked for 7 barbecue sauces and she said “did you ask for them when you ordered”. We explained to her that we didn’t have chance due to being cut off and didn’t realise you were supposed to ask when ordering (usually we have always asked at the final window). She then retorted back that we should have asked if we wanted so some sauce, which again we explained we got cut off! She storms off and gets a bag and throws the sauces in then basically throws them through the window at us.

The attitude and the rudeness from this individual was completely appalling. We rang up the store and the manager could not be more apologetic and offered us compensation to which we declined due to not being from the area.

Overall terrible experience which could have been avoided by the girl just being more professional and having less of an attitude as we understand that during this time they are under a lot of pressure!

UPDATE: 2 years later

Still awful. We went on our way back from the lakes and this just is a terrible McDonald’s.

We asked for 6 BBQ sauces and the girl gave us two. So we asked can we have 4 more and she gave us 2 more then faced away from us. So we had to shout to get her attention again. It just seems like they don’t listen.

I had the new-ish McPlant meal and half the stuff was missing from it. It didn’t have any sauce or lettuce on it. It was truly terrible in comparison to the one I had at the McDonald’s closer to...

When it opened... 5-star - Clean, friendly staff, prompt service. Would definitely recommend.

Update 18-03-2023 - reduced to 3-stars. Utter pigsty. Tables smeared with ketchup, patrons who are simply incapable of clearing their own rubbish!

"hot" apple pies were served cool. Although, they were replaced with piping hot ones - eventually.

Generally good during the day. Not so great later on at night. Terrible attitude from one member of staff who I overheard being asked if they could wipe a table by fellow patrons.

12-07-2023 - update... Utterly disgusting pigsty! Food and debris scattered on and under tables. The only 2 avaliable tables were smeared with sauces.

Needless to say, I won't be recommending this hovel. Nor do I plan to return anytime soon!

29-09-2023 - update As a last resort, my neices (7 & 5) insisted on a Happy Meal and disproving my previous visits, the food was hot, if not prompt.

The staff were fairly efficient. But I have to hand it to the lady who has the unenviable task of clearing up after the dregs of society who think clearing up after themselves is too much to ask. She definitely has her work cut out, but was doing a...

Absolutely disgracefull, my happy meal was cold and the cheese felt like it had just came out the fridge, I usually love a good macdonalds but whenever I go to caton road macdonalds they have no milkshakes ( an iconic macdonalds drink ) or drinks like an ice caramel frappe or anything like that, the burgers I.E big mac was overall a let down, minimal lettus and poorly stacked, it is a shame as it is a nice treat everywhere else.

I would put 0 stars but it is not an option 🙄😡😤

Update finaly caton road mcdonalds had milkshakes, however isn't it ironic that when I ask for a chocolate milkshake I get given a vanilla one, would not recommend this is not the only time this has happened, never mind the employee's, really showed the mcdonalds spirit I have seen more enthusiasm in a piece of cheese.

Well another update, absolutely disgracefull, ordered chips with my burger and as expected nothing came, I had a grin In my face and a spring in my step, but when we pulled up my grin suddenly faded and the spring had decayed, like my mcdonalds order, no chips with my burger, another vanilla milkshake all I ask is...
