Visited Cielo in Garforth on Saturday 24.8.19 with my mum & aunt. Very disappointing. Ordered 2 lattes, 2 fruit scones, 1 pot of tea & 1 coffee & walnut cake, after placing order (3.40pm) was told "We're closing at 4 but don't worry we won't throw you out but may start sweeping up around you" doesn't exactly make you feel like you can leisurely enjoy your cake & tea. Was then informed the coffee & walnut cake was dry so he wasn't able to serve that to me (which was good to know) so he could reimburse me or I could choose something else, opted for the lemon drizzle cake which he cut the end off first before serving me a piece (was this going to be another dry cake ??) Weirdest lemon drizzle cake I've ever had & didn't look like a typical lemon drizzle, wondered if it was maybe gluten free as I'd seen carrot cake labelled gluten free. Returned the cake to the counter was then informed it was vegan (would have been nice to know before I ordered, also had I had my original choice that would have been vegan too & the other cake available was also vegan, none of these were labelled to say they were vegan) explained I just wanted something that wasn't vegan or gluten free, in the end opted for millionaires shortbread which I have to say was very good & the young man gave me 2 slices, whether that was for my inconvenience or because they were shutting wasn't sure but appreciated the gesture. My mum & aunt weren't over impressed with the scones & were disappointed with their coffees which they said didn't seem to have much flavour. The pot of tea was just how I like it real tea leaves & a decent colour (not too weak) a shame this local cafe was so disappointing, think they need to up their game given Costa is also on the...
Read moreNot one to complain however since walking out to laughter and snearing remarks of "soz" "you wont come back then" i thought id leave my first ever negative review. Everyone I was with was underwhelmed with thier food so I thought I'd highlight where simple things could be changed. As a bunch of under 18s we're running the place I spoke to the red haired boy making the food. I mentioned that on the menu no peppers were mentioned in the halumi and sweet chilli wrap, that it also came with salad which I had to ask for and it didn't have any dressing which it said on the menu and there was also dark curly hairs on the peppers I removed. Not once did he apologise but blaimed a change of menu for the reasoning. He said he would find out about the hairs. I made a joke so he didn't feel bad as he was about 16 that I knew they weren't his. I ended by saying I wanted to point it out in case anyone else ordered the same. Again no apology and laughter began immediately from turning back from the till. My advice is don't eat there and expect to be forfilped and with no one running the place it's best to be avoided. It definately wasn't always like this and has really...
Read moreHave been once before and found it OK ableit a bit chaotic.
Visited yesterday. VERY dispointed.
Lots of very young staff on but few of them working.
Waited for what seemed ages to get served at the counter despite there being 5 staff behind the counter.
2 of the young girls were messing around on a smart phone and ignoring customers. The other 3 staff just seemed to be looking around at anything but the customers waiting to be served.
Finally placed our orders at the counter and sat down.
Dirty cups and plates on the table together with crumbs and mess. Coffee arrived after 6 or 7 minutes later.
Waitress cleared the cups and plates but never came back to wipe up the food mess on the table.
One of our 2 coffees was the wrong order, so tried to catch the eye of a member of staff to sort the order and get the table cleaned but they all seemed too self absorbed.
By this time we had had enough and left. As we walked out one of the young male members was sat down and playing with his phone ...... whilst PICKING HIS TEETH !
That just about summed it up...... BAD, BAD, BAD.
Will not...
