East Bar Lounge Grill — Restaurant in Leeds

I wouldn't visit here again if someone paid me to. Don't waste your time here - there are plenty of restaurants about 15 minutes away in Bradford (on Leeds Road) who can do better food, better quality with better waiting staff.

I had ordered three starters - when they arrived, one was cold, and the other was raw meat. I sent both back, and the waiter apologised and brought fresh potions. Unfortunately this time, the lamb chops were still raw. I asked for them to be taken back, and taken off my bill. The waiter took them back, but arrived back at my table five minutes later to tell me that the chops were "100% cooked". I said I disagreed and he continued to insist. I then told him we'd agree to disagree, at which point he said, "okay, but they were definitely cooked". I didn't like the attitude and was concerned that if there was a problem with the main, I can only imagine how argumentative the waiter would become. So I called over someone else (I assumed it was a manager), he wasn't in a uniform but was at the till, and said I'd like to cancel the rest of my order and pay for what I'd eaten. He then insisted that the chops were cooked and that he had inspected them himself. Trying to avoid an argument, I reiterated that I'd like to pay for what I'd eaten and leave. He then said "okay, but those chops were one thousand percent cooked". About 10 minutes late he arrived with a bill, which I paid and promptly left.

Whilst the food I did eat was nice, the attitudes of the staff left a sour taste. I didn't trust that they wouldn't mess with my main dish. Furthermore, the management seemed to be completely unable to understand this. As an establishment which serves food to customers, it is expected that they can firstly cook food properly, and secondly, take feedback and criticism...

The table for 12 had been booked for a few weeks, within 20 mins our order for starters and main courses had been taken, 20 mins later the starters arrived however 2 were missing, after informing the waiters it was a further 10 mins before they arrived. 45 mins after finishing the starters we asked how long the main courses would be and told 5 mins they finally arrived after 1hr & 40mins!!

The waiters passed out 10 main courses and left, we assumed to collect the remaining 2 meals, after 10 mins they had still not arrived so we asked how much longer they would be, the waiters had no idea that they had not been served but quickly went to the kitchen and brought out 2 dishes, once they had been placed on the table it was clear that the dishes were not those that had been ordered. As people started to eat their meals it turned out that another dish was incorrect and the dishes that had been ordered as lamb were a different meat, the Chicken in the Korma was a very poor quality and the sauce was like water.

We were unhappy with the time that we had to wait for the meals and asked to see the manager who refused to come to the table instead sending the floor manager, He informed us that we had to go to the managers office if we wanted to speak to him, I won't go in to all the details but we were told that what did we expect on a Saturday night and eventually he agreed to knock of the service charge and the 3 incorrect meals. Although the waiters were good and very understanding of our situation, the manager and the floor manager were rude, confrontational and unprofessional, I would not recommend this...

Our recent visit to East Bar and Lounge Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The soothing sound of the piano in the background added a touch of elegance, creating a serene environment where we could relax and enjoy our meal. My children had the most amazing experience, and it was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed themselves. The staff made them feel special and ensured they had everything they needed.
