Feed — Restaurant in Leeds

I want to start off by saying the food at Feed is amazing. Literally the best food I have had in a long time. I've been twice now, once when it was busy and the other time when it was super quiet...both times the food was out within less than 30 mins from sitting and down and ordering. Which when your hungry is pretty impressive.

The setting is also lovely, you can tell the owner has put a lot of care and attention in to this place...

The music is a bit of let down at this place sadly. One minute i'm enjoying a bit of Micheal Jackson and the next i'm head banging to some heavy metal music. It does put you on edge a bit when your trying to relax and enjoy a meal.

I also found the staff far too false. Our waiter kept constantly telling us 'It's so lovely to see us and its all about having a good time'. Whats wrong with that you ask? It was literally every time he came over to the table and when we said 'thanks' he stood there really awkwardly just looking back and forth and me and my partner. Was he expecting a tip mid meal?

The second time we visited was a bit of a joke to be honest. The music was constantly heavy metal/rock music, the waiting came over to us going 'Hey guys! Have you been here before?' when we uttered a yes he was soon to respond with 'Of course you have! I thought I remembered your faces!'. First off my partners Mother has never dined at Feed before and secondly he was not working when we was last in so how he remembered us is beyond me.... It's like they are trained to be overly nice and false...there's no need to be honest and it's just awkward and off putting.

I ordered the Vol-au-vent and the waiter didn't have a clue what it was!! I even showed him the menu and he took it off me in utter disbelief before telling me 'I didn't know that was on the menu'. Wonderful we have a waiter who's telling us we are going to have an amazing time to not even knowing what is on the menu.

My partner and his Mother ordered the sea bass with veg. Once again the food was out in record time and tasted amazing! However after we finished our meal the waiter came with veg for the main dish?!? He apologised and said the chef was new then second waiter came up and said 'just to make us aware that the veg is actually a secondary course that we was meant to enjoy after the meal?!?' They messed up the order but I did appreciate their feeble attempt of getting out of their mistake.

In between all this we are shouting over one an other because of the heavy metal music...

Maybe at the grand old of 27 I'm too old to appreciate the deafness of heavy metal music whilst enjoying my food. Maybe i'm just too old for Feed and what it is about. If you are 17 and going on your first date then Feed is the place. If your over 17 then bring ear plugs to drown out the dreadful music and false waiters (p.s the waitress is lovely and far from false - just seems to be the waiters!).

This is by far the best takeaway around! The Salmon teriyaki is incredible and the salmon portion is much more generous than the other takeaways. I would definitely recommend! Burgers too are juicy and perfectly cooked! Maybe they are a bit more pricey than other places but the quality is impeccable and worth every penny! They come with all the trimmings as well. Chips are delicious too, seasoned and always hot.

Had the ramen once and it was sent in separate containers to be mixed at home and there were basic instructions written on the boxes (of what the right way was to put it together) which I thought was a nice touch!

Gyozas are the absolute best! And surprisingly those macaroni cheese bites are just heavenly! Crunchy on the outside and yummy cheesy goodness on the inside - delicious!

They are now using recyclable containers and as little plastic as possible which is fantastic!

We order from here regularly now and the teriyaki Salmon donburi is always up to standards! Salmon always expertly cooked! One time the rice wasn't sushi rice, but still cooked well. The teriyaki sauce is delicious, maybe could actually have a little more sauce in it 😁

(Sometimes, if you're lucky, you get a sneaky free desert with your order which always makes us feel happy like little kids).

Feed serves HAPPY FOOD. It's fresh, it's delicious, it's presented with care and attentinon to detail. The textures, tastes and presentation are all perfect. Three of us ate in yesterday. The restauarant itself is simple, a few tables, not highly decorated. It's clean and comfortable. The kitchen is open and you can see the chef working away to produce the excellent food.

We received a warm welcome, service was thoughtful and attentive. All of the food we've ordered from here (for takeaway and eat in) is always superb. I recommend eating in to get it completely fresh and wonderful. Having said that, takeaway is carefully packaged to travel well and to enjoy the experience of eating at home too.

It's a family friendly place, not big enough to get really busy. Definitely casual rather than formal, which suits us perfectly. Lovely people, lovely food and well priced for the quality of ingredients and...
