A Hidden Gem of Authentic Thai Cuisine
Nestled in an unassuming location, Thai Sun Restaurant is a true hidden gem that has become a personal favourite over countless visits. This charming establishment offers an extensive menu of authentic Thai dishes that never fails to impress.
Upon entering, guests are immediately greeted by the restaurant's thoughtful Oriental-inspired decor. The ambiance successfully captures the essence of Thai culture, enhancing the overall dining experience.
One of my favourite things about visiting the Thai Sun is its staff. The service team is invariably helpful and greets patrons with warm, genuine smiles. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanour contribute significantly to the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere.
Once seated the menu is a treasure trove of Thai culinary delights, featuring a wide array of dishes that cater to various tastes and preferences, despite me been a creature of habit and mainly sticking to one of my top 4 choices number 1 being the Chicken Massmann curry. Each plate is prepared with care, showcasing the rich colours and flavours of aromatic spices of Thai cuisine. The quality of the food consistently exceeds expectations, especially considering the reasonable pricing.
For those who are vegan or vegetarian, Thai Sun does an excellent job of providing options that do not compromise on flavor. The Mango Salad, fresh and zesty, is a fantastic choice, while the Vegetable Stir-Fry features a colorful medley of seasonal veggies cooked to perfection.
While the exterior of the building and its surroundings might not immediately catch the eye, don't let this deter you. Thai Sun Restaurant is a prime example of why one should never judge a book by its cover. Step inside, and you'll discover a world of delicious Thai cuisine and hospitality that will keep you coming back time and time again.
The prices are very reasonable for the quality and authenticity of the food. It’s easy to indulge in a full meal without feeling like you’ve overspent, making it a great option for families and friends looking to share a meal. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Thai cuisine or are new to its delights, a visit is an experience that will undoubtedly leave you returning for more. Don't let its...
Read moreWe've been numerous times and as usual the food is absolutely faultless. I actually asked this visit if the chefs are of genuine Thai descent as well and was told 100% both of them are Thai, and quite frankly you can tell. I've been to most well known thai restaurants in Leeds, but only once, yet we come back here time and time again - definitely a valentines staple - but it's also suitable for sensible families (screaming kids no thanks but ours always behave and wouldn't spoil a romantic meal on a close table on a Friday night) the only issue is the seating being close together and occasionally the layout of the restaurant means some seating doesn't get the servers attention as easily and during peak times there is a wait for food, especially between courses The set meals are utterly divine though and who wants to go for a rushed meal (East the Indian restaurant round the corner once had us wait nearly 2 hours for our main so this place is literally nothing to worry about at all, just it's not a quick in and out when busy if you're in a rush) We've also ordered off the main menu and again it was wonderful The stir fry meals do need a chilli heat rating though as the curries have this but it's not on the stir fry, and this did have some impact on the enjoyment of our last meal, but it was just a lesson to ask the server. We assumed the lack of heat rating was because they were all mild. Good job we like spicy as well! All fresh food, lovingly cooked, and the girls who serve the food really try their best to make sure they are attentive yet give you space and there's no harassment with drinks or anything like that. The decor is also beautiful and authentic. I'd recommend some dishes off the menu but I would rather suggest you give the restaurant a try yourself, I've tried to much there I would not be able to pick one item as the best thing. Enjoy! We are hoping to take a family group for a celebration sometime and the age ranges are spaced out, yet there is really something for everyone to enjoy and it's so tasty and authentic we will be customers for a...
Read more⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Thai Sun is UNREAL.
Id say that out of all the takeaways I’ve ever had it’s the most consistent by a mile- and we’ve ordered from here pretty much every week for the last 2 years, It’s THAT good.
I’ve never even remotely had an order messed up or lacking in anyway and that’s rare for any establishment to follow through with such consistency.
We have eaten in the restaurant and absolutely loved it- food really fresh, attentive service without overbearing and all super friendly. Admittedly thought I do tend to grab takeaway more often, only because I work in hospitality so like to eat at home.
A really really nice touch is that once you’ve placed your order online, they give you a call back to confirm it and give you accurate waiting times so you’re not sat around guessing, not seen many other places doing that at all! and the delivery drivers are all super nice too! Again, rare 😂
As I say, working in hospitality it’s easy to see where there’s system errors or service issues, but honestly I have nothing negative to say about Thai Sun whatsoever or its staff. The chefs even take the time to clean the prawns properly 😅 and you’d be amazed at how many places don’t! They all clearly care and take pride in what they do. They deserve and have earned every star.
Give them a try you will not regret it!
