I visited Lala’s on Valentine’s Day with my wife and my seventeen month old baby. Wow. What an amazing experience! The exterior of the building was classy and contemporary. We walked into the restaurant greeted by plenty of warm and smiley faces.
We were taken to our table and then the waiter introduced himself professionally and explained how he would be looking after us for the dinner. The other waiters stopped by every now and then and had made an effort with my boy, interacting with him and making him smile. Often when you have a young child you can sit there worrying that you’re disturbing or annoying other customers. This was not the case here, the waiters made us all feel welcome. Before I move on, thank you to Arsalan for providing a professional and kind service to us.
The lavish interior of the restaurant along with the cutlery, menu and plates added to the restaurant’s ambience. Lala’s undoubtedly stands out as the best looking restaurant in the Bradford/Pudsey area. The perfect atmosphere, lighting and music created a lovely ambience to the restaurant.
For starters, we savoured lamb chops and seekh kebabs. The seekh kebabs were delightful, while the lamb chops, were not as impressive as some of the competitors. They were were still flavorful and set us up nicely for the main course.
For the mains, we opted for the Karahi Ghost (meat) and Tandoori Chicken Masala. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and generously portioned, leaving us with leftovers to enjoy for later. The naan bread was equally impressive, its size and taste was lovely.
To conclude our meal, we indulged in the ‘Sweet Like Chocolate’ cake. Rich and chocolatey, it was a delightful treat to end the meal. I highly recommend getting this to share.
Lala’s recent recognition in the local press as one of the best restaurants is well-deserved. This review, and my pictures, do not do it justice. You will need to get yourself down to truly experience it. I hope the staff maintains their professional service and keeps the restaurant clean and aesthetically pleasing. With these qualities, Lala’s will undoubtedly remain the premier Indian restaurant in the Bradford/Leeds area.

Read moreWe visited this Restaurant on Saturday with extended family of 25 people. From the start the owner of the restaurant wasn't welcoming and without apologising for the dealy in our table not being ready and told us to continue waiting for 20 min , after we ordered , the food was taken to different tables . They was lack of management and costumer service and absolute chaos, the chefs they were bringing plates and taking them to different tables and some of our orders they were missing as they had been taken to different tables and we would have to wait more .the food finely arrived after long wait , from the kids food to the adults food all had horrendous amount of chili even though we told them to make them mild to medium .neither the kids or adults enjoy the food because of the amount of chili . To make matters worst one of the hot dishes was dropped all over family members , coat ,chair and my father's in laws clothes , the Music was so loud like night club , you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you , Again they was no apology for this accident from the manager or the waiter's either for the amount of chilli in the food , eventually they agreed to exchange the children's food which they didn't touch with no extra charge but the manager didn't keep his promise and charge us for 4 kids meal instead of 2 .the owner was very rude and arrogant ,he told us we should be grateful that his restaurant is open and we should pay him more so he can pay his staff for working on the weekend , I have never ever had such horrible experience and such terrible food and service , I would not advice anybody to go to this joke of restaurant unless they want to be poisoned by excessive amounts of chili and bad quality food that caused us stomach ache all night ,also be aware that the prices on the online menu are incorrect but the actual prices in the restaurant are almost double the price for every dish from the starter to the mains, You 'VE...
Read moreThis was a difficult review because it had so many highs but a fair few bits that weren't great.
We had to wait a bit for a table but we did arrive early, so the wait was fine but the waiting area by the door was cramped. It was literally full of people waiting and a bit chaotic. I dont think it works very well.
The food comes really quickly. We got served Popadoms, starters and mains really quickly which was great. No one came to take away our finished plates/glasses/cutlery etc for ages though. So we had to stack things on the counter behind us in the end because our food was arriving but hadnt been cleared away. People kept coming past and giving us napkins too. Which is thoughtful, but sometimes we had some already or wasnt eating at all. It got quite funny. I think the atmosphere is good and service is trying to be good, but maybe hasnt found a good flow yet. It wasnt a big deal, but made it seem a little unorganised.
For the food. For starters we got chicken pakora and chicken puri. Both were great! They are so good and I would definitely recommend. For mains. Chicken tikka makhani- it said it had cheese in which I thought would be weird but it is unreal. It gets too sickly by the end but if you're sharing its perfect. Meat dopiaza- this was sooooo bad! I barely ate it. It was so bland and the meat was just cooked horribly. Its such a shame because it let the whole experience down for me! The garlic naan is unreal. Perfect consistency and flavour everywhere. The boiled rice had a really weird flavour to it, I dont really know how that happens because it's literally plain rice but it was not the one.
We also had items added to our bill that we hadn't ordered. There was only two of us so easy to spot and ask for it to be amended but could be a problem for larger groups.
It feels like Lala's is competing with Akbars but definitely not there yet. I think I'd struggle to choose here...
