If I could give the service 0 stars I would. The worst service in the world. The food was okay. After finishing our food I asked for desserts which took forever to come. Whilst waiting for the desserts we asked for out table to be cleaned, not once, not twice but multiple times and the lady would take one plate then leave. It was not until probably asking 5 times she finally emptied the plates off the table. When ordering the desserts we asked for ice cream to come with it. Our desserts arrive without ice cream- we asked where our ice cream was and the guy says the lady took your order I don’t know. He ends up eventually getting the ice cream which was literally melted! I’ll insert a picture. I didn’t even know ice cream could be warm how did they even think it was okay to serve. I called the guy back to let him know the ice cream is all melted and he laughs and says oh we forgot to put the freezer on?? The service was just so bad we asked for the bill at this point. Again, the bill was not on its way so we got up to ask for the bill at the till instead -bear in mind the place was not even busy for the service to be this bad. If you are thinking of trying this place don’t because it is not worth it. The lady and guy that were serving were rubbish servers.

Located on Roseville Road, has ample parking within the premises. The decor, cleanliness and ambience is good. The staff and management are friendly and very attentive. The food is good and the prices very reasonable. Recommended. Went there for Brunch as they offer nice Asian breakfast and you can also order starters among other items from the menu. The halwa and channa are really nice, the puries are fresh and crisp as they should be. The lamb chops are soft and very well seasoned, the ribs were juicy with right amount of spice, the chicken boti was also very good. In the past ordered the highly recommended shami kebab which was OK. shami burger however was good but they should also give mint chutney with it. I will say that their breakfast and starters are really good and are really good value for money. The only downside is that they open really late for breakfast 1200 noon. If you want a late brunch will recommend the place and also for dining. As I can say they are most reasonably priced and also one of the tastiest food in Leeds.

Majestic Indeed. I really do find it hard to review a restaurant that is a 5 start 10 out of 10. I want to find a fault with it. I can't fault Taj this time or any of the times. I’ve been going on and off there for 40 odd years. They been a staple of Leeds for multiple generation. Started off one the very first takeaways on Roundhay Road. Servings proper traditional Pakistani food and sweets. Now, Taj finally have established an eating-in experience worth paying for. The prices are so competitive you would think it's one of the high end places we get from Bradford. For me, Taj are better. The quality of the menu supersedes quantity, with staple traditional Pak-British combinations to suit everyone. It's all very well taking a photo of the food before you eat it. How about one of the empty dishes. Too good to not eat it all up.

WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. LOTS OF OTHER EXCELLENT OPTIONS IN LEEDS.

Incredibly unprofessional negotiation from Ali. Went back on his word multiple times, even after printing the final bill. Made us pay for more guests per head than we had invited even before the event. Did not deduct the deposit from the final bill.

During the day was incredibly unprofessional and rude to the female guests and refused to move tables to accommodate seating plan.

Refused to put screens up for privacy that had been agreed upon before the meal. And instead the owner (Ali's dad) was filming the female guests and video calling on his phone. On top of that took photos of of the girls and posted on Facebook as promotion without permission!!!

Incredibly stingy with the food. Brought out two naans, two chops and a small amount of fish per four people, even though we paid per person and were forced to pay for 5 extra people at the start. When asked multiple times to bring more food, they were incredibly slow with the service and still did not bring the amount paid for per person. The chops were very dry, tough and burnt. The masala fish size was very small. The salad was promised and not brought out. We specifically asked for no sugar in all the teas. But 33 teas were brought out with alot of sugar and no replacement or deduction in cost was offered. All the teas came in the same container and no one knew what they had ordered. We paid for drinks and the guests were not asked for which drinks they wanted. No one was ever asked how the food was.

Countless other issues occured throughout the meal and instead rude comments were made about having to leave a large tip, for evertime we asked for the table to be cleared for dessert (which did not happen). A large amount of cash was demanded at the till and the deposit has still not...

It is very sad that I write this, I have been dining at at Taj (small shop) Roundhay Road since 1980, although the staff are lovely the food, quality and portion sizes has gone down significantly, all starters had to be returned uncooked twice portions now come in a little chip pan drainer - no presentation, salad or finesse just very cheap and un-pleasing to the eye, we where told the usual Chef was off for a while but found this to be a poor excuse for raw food. We could tell that the chicken pakora was the ones sold in Iceland as the shape was identical and they dont usually come like that having had it many times before, the manger was told how unhappy we where and that after using this place for over 40 years this was the first time I have ever been unhappy or complained, the only thing he did was take off the bill was the so called service charge; which was £11 for bringing in your own alcohol- "yes you heard right" charged £11 for bringing in 4 bottles that cost £5, apparently its because they have to specially clean there glasses, even though they were drunk from the bottle 🤔. Anyway 48hrs later my daughter who is only a teenager ended up quite unwell with severe stomach cramps, diarrhea & sickness, she also had a temperature and felt quite ill. This is the reason this review is late, I was willing to overlook the other things as a one off bad show, but when people become ill it's a serious problem and the restaurant need to address this urgently, if their usual Chef is off work then the replacement should be competent, you may not miss out on money one night, but your reputation and livelihood has now been affected so I hope it was worth it.

Fix up Taj- gone from being the best curry house in 40 years to the worst overnight, when you provide good food for all those years and good portions people notice the...
