Called in for tea around a week ago having previously been (fairly) regular dining customers but for some reason fell out of the habit.
The decor is tasteful and tidy with a very welcoming atmosphere and very friendly staff. Timmy Taylor's on tap too so being a Keighley lad a very welcome option! Staff said renovations were still ongoing with the car park due to be improved in the near future.
The menu is pretty varied without being excessively large so everyone should find something to their tastes.
I ordered the Dirty Double burger and our lass a Chicken Parmo with barbecue and bacon (I think was the option?)
Both came looking great with big thick proper chips!! Is there a better sight on a working class plate? I doubt it! Sides of onion rings, salad and coleslaw (home made) were a nice touch too. All of these were lovely.
The burger though was just alright, but a little lacking in taste unfortunately. Something was just missing. Not sure what it was about it to be completely honest but it was underwhelming. Every other thing put it to shame in terms of flavour! Maybe a stronger cheese or relish/sauce would make all the difference?
By contrast our lass' Parmo was good! Full of flavour and very well played at that! I should have ordered the same!
It must be said as well that in the current climate of everything being stupid expensive the price at the end was very, very reasonable.
We will be back, and I'll order something...
Read moreWhat a really pleasant family afternoon we had at the Britannia. All the staff, Particularly Hannah, couldn’t do enough to make our visit a special one and nothing was too much trouble. My son and I were the first to arrive and were shown to a very nice table but when my sister arrived Hannah noticed that she has some mobility issues so offered to relocate us to a more suitable spot. The bar is excellently stocked and the beer kept in great condition (especially the Timothy Taylor’s!) and the table service was always at hand but never oppressive or rushed.
Now to the food…
Upon looking at the menu you might think that because the prices are so good, the quality may be lacking. You would be completely wrong! Our party of 4 all ordered different dishes from the menu but we all agreed that the food was outstanding. Restaurant quality at an affordable price.
There’s no doubt we will be returning to the Britannia, it’s just unfortunate some of us live quite a distance away, but we’ll be back just as...
Read moreIt was ok and that's all it was. This establishment has been trading for years and had various owners. I remember the renovations taking place in fact I worked there for a long time when my kids were young, there now in there late 30. The food was really good then and we had loads of compliments on the high standard of service and food. Unfortunately my husband's meal last night wasn't up to scratch his mixed grill was ok he said but then he said he didn't like the sausage he thought it was Cumberland sausage, so l tasted it and had to spilt it into a napkin it was off . We told the young girl who was serving us and she just said sorry about that and my husband mentioned it to the lady behind the bar and he got the same reply. Another party also complained about there food too l don't know how there complaint got dealt with because we were ready to leave. Our meal and drinks were just short of £75 cos we were there treating some of our family. I'm afraid we won't be...
