I recently visited The Original Oak and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by their star bartender, Adam Knights. From the moment I entered, the inviting ambiance and stylish decor set a positive tone, but it was Adam's warm smile and welcoming demeanor that truly made the evening memorable.
Adam's mixology expertise is remarkable. His ability to craft both classic and contemporary cocktails with impeccable attention to detail is unparalleled. I started with a classic Old Fashioned, which was flawlessly balanced and artfully presented, showcasing his dedication to perfection.
One highlight was a custom cocktail Adam created based on my favorite flavors. After a brief chat, he whipped up a drink that was not only delicious but also visually stunning. This personalized touch demonstrated his intuitive understanding of customer preferences and his talent for exceeding expectations.
Beyond his technical skills, Adam excels at creating a sense of community among patrons. He engages with customers, remembers regulars' favorite drinks, and makes everyone feel valued. His genuine interest and enthusiasm foster a welcoming atmosphere that sets The Original Oak apart.
Adam's professionalism is exemplary. Despite the busy environment, he remained composed, efficient, and attentive, effortlessly multitasking between making cocktails, engaging in friendly banter, and managing the bar's inventory. His calm demeanor and proficiency contribute significantly to the bar's inviting atmosphere.
The Original Oak is a fantastic venue with its rich history and extensive drink menu, but Adam Knights elevates the experience to new heights. His dedication, skill, and commitment to customer satisfaction make him an invaluable asset. If you visit The Original Oak, I highly recommend seeking out Adam at the bar. His exceptional mixology and personable nature ensure an unforgettable experience that will leave you with a lasting impression...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. Bad atmosphere and even worse customer service. Booked and reserved a table for a friends birthday to be told they're over booked and we have to sit outside in the cold & rain. Which albeit was annoying, we were fine with for the time being until a table inside opened up.
The Bar staff were no help whatsoever, when asked if we could be notified once a table inside opens up and we can be moved inside we was ignored, then when we got up to get a staff member for help as we had no table number so was unsure how to order a drink, we was then approached by a very rude and aggressive bouncer and we were told to leave because we broke "social distancing" guidelines.
The security was nothing more than a shambolic disgrace of a human being. Not a Braincell between him or his partner. Rude, obnoxious and totally out of order. Swearing, shouting and throwing homophobic and discriminatory slurs at me and my friend & not listening to us at all when we was trying to explain and ask for some help he just regurgitating the same sentence over and over again "yOu NeEd tO LeAvE, yOu NeEd tO LeAvE nOw" like a simpleton.
You're a doorman to a run down pub entrance, you're not guarding the chamber of secrets, reality check is very much needed, how they're still employed and in business I do not know.
Would not recommend, if you're reading this I'd take your custom & money and go to a proper pub with an actual idea of how to run a decent bar with a better understanding of...
Read moreReally disappointed to have to write this review because the orginal oak itself is a great pub and the food was amazing. However, I have never been spoken to so badly as a customer before. We ordered food from the app and it turned out that one of the things we ordered wasn't available (which we didn't know at the time). The server came over to us angrily and told us off for 1. Ordering on the app and 2. Ordering something that wasn't on the paper menu. We were so shocked at how rudly she delievered this message and honestly it ruined our whole experience as it felt as though we were in trouble. Firstly there is a qr code on the table which says to use the app and secondly we weren't to know that you can't order certain things on the app as it didn't say anywhere. It could have been so different if the server had just come over and explained the situation, we would have been more than happy to order from the till if we'd have known. Even the person sat on the table next to us was surprised at how rude she was. It just takes one experience like this to put you off going somewhere, I'm not going to write the pub off yet but I do hope that staff can be trained in how to speak to customers...
