My partner and I went into this bakery to buy a vegan cake to take away but when we saw that they had some vegan lunch options on the menu we decided to stay for a quick bite to eat. We ordered a gratin and a beetroot & black bean salad, however, the staff member who served us advised us to get a mixed salad plate instead as otherwise it would be "just beetroot". I asked her if the other available salad options were vegan too (as they were not labelled as such) and she said "yes", so I agreed and paid for it.
When our food arrived, half the salad plate had real feta cheese on it. My partner spoke to the staff member who had served us to inform her of the mistake and return the plate. She did not apologise or acknowledge her mistake despite serving dairy to people clearly requesting vegan food, and did not offer me a refund for the salad or any other gesture of goodwill. Instead, she returned with a plate full of the beetroot and black bean salad she initially advised me not to purchase on its own. In terms of savoury options, there aren't really any and then the gluten free cake options are a little lack lustre. It's quite difficult to sit next to someone tucking into a slab of carrot cake with buttercream icing while I nibble at my plain oat cookie (which is one of the few options available) and not feel quite hard done by. The gluten free options are either tiny or 'healthy'. Just because I'm gluten free it doesn't mean I don't want to indulge and have something decadent. Please try and up your game flint owl, gluten free options don't have...

Good looking food Queues out the door quite often but not long wait. Just to note I asked that a slice rather than tongs be used to avoid squashing my cake and the staff seemed to take this as an insult. Also went in the shop another time at 3.30pm and wondered if closing as staff just stood there waiting for me to chose when I'd only just got in the shop.there was a definite air of impatience. If Flint Owl staff continue their customer service this way, I will be sad but will stop...
