Very busy at the time of visit. Advised be about 20 minute wait for table but would take our name and hold table for us. Stood by door waiting only to see other new comers be given tables as soon as they were clear even though they hadn’t reserved! Ordered just tea and cakes. Tea arrived promptly but cake took a while. Waitress went to cut cake but seemed to struggle so asked front of house person to help. I witnessed her playing with her hair, pulling it back off her face into a pretend ponytail and letting it go before then cutting our cake whilst hands all over it! What happened to food hygiene! Cake then taken to another counter and left there for 10 minutes before served to us. On trying to pay the bill, stood at counter whilst front of house and waitress discussed another order (no customer involved), was not acknowledged for at least 5 minutes. Eventually decided to serve me but service is shocking. Don’t waste your money here, looked much better places further...
Read moreWe had our pre-wedding 'Friday night' meal for 11 of our close family and it was just absolutely perfect in every way. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such enthusiasm and energy. Every member of the team was so friendly, kind, engaging and funny too! From the intimate set up, which felt like our own private restaurant, to the absolutely delicious food and impeccable service. We really couldn't fault it. We felt like everyone went above and beyond to ensure we had a really special and lovely time.
Not only was the food simple but delicious, they had a great range of wines, interesting local beers and cocktails on offer too.
I actually work as a wedding and event planner in London, and spend a lot of time working with various high end restaurants and caterers and I have to say, the service we received was the BEST I have experienced in a very long time, so the team really are an asset...
Read moreSadly not exquisite. We booked on line for a table in the 'Barn', which was freezing cold and zero atmosphere. The table owners should not be using this space if they can't heat it. Shocking really and shows no concern for the customer. Focaccia was not good too doughy and not at all like a traditional Italian Focaccia. The cured meat did not have the string removed. My cod was very and too salty and no sign of the salami. Grilled pork chop was ok but the confit potato seemed to have been cooked it pork fat but not fully, hence a smelly and slightly rancid taste. No one seemed to be in charge of service, just inexperienced waiting staff. We really wanted to love this place but £147 for poor food sitting and a bottle of wine in the cold is not the on. I doubt they will get many repeat customers and once they hype is over will struggle. A big...
