Firstly the staff we met were very helpful and the beer was good (so says my husband) hence the 2 stars BUT the accommodation is in immediate and I mean immediate need of a massive overhaul, upgrade, gutting however you want to describe stopping and staring again. It's like stepping back into the 1950's. The rooms are shabby and the shared bathroom/toilet on a separate floor are just not acceptable in the UK in the 21st C. And they weren't that clean either. And there was the small issue of getting out in the event of a fire. Not the easiest escape route if you're panicking and there's smoke coming at you.||And then there was the slight problem of the evening meal (they don't offer breakfast for which we were grateful). I'm vegetarian but the menu was one I could work with ..... except that there were NO vegetables that night! No salad, no carrots no peas - nothing. We went elsewhere. My suspicion is that the owner is relying on bar regulars and the annual Lewes Bonfire parade to keep his business a float. This place really should only offer beer i.e. being a pub....

Went to watch a Rugby match, arrived at 755pm used the toilet. Came back out to order food and right as I reached for the menu it was snapped out from in front of me. I asked if I could please order food, and was told "No, the kitchen is closed".

About 10 minutes later about 8 meals were walked right past me. When I asked if maybe they could just get me some chips, again I was told no and that I could go get takeaway somewhere else and bring it in.

Not being from the area and not having cell service I was unable to look for food locations, so I had to go walking to find something. I walked for about 25 minutes trying to locate food for myself. Finally I located another Pub (Amazing service was provided there) and returned with my food.

The game was into the second half by this point.

I was dissapointed and dissatisfied with the service there even while just...

I was just here for one night as I had an early meeting to be at. Wanted a drink locally and something to eat. Lady at the bar was friendly. Food was great and cooked well, plus more chips than I could manage. The chef asked me how my food was which is always nice. I can recommend this local pub. Can't stress enough how important it is to support our local pubs in the UK. Use it or loose it people!! X

Greene King sports bar locals pub showing sport on large TV, large pub. Locals friendly. Indifferent staff but ales Harvey today was OK. It is customers that makes the pub and had a great chat with some retired folk and met Luna the rescue spaniel dog. It's a bit off the beaten track but worth checking out for the chat alone.
