It's like stepping back into the 1950's. The rooms are shabby and the shared bathroom/toilet on a separate floor are just not acceptable in the UK in the 21st C. And they weren't that clean either. And there was the small issue of getting out in the event of a fire. Not the easiest escape route if you're panicking and there's smoke coming at you.||And then there was the slight problem of the evening meal (they don't offer breakfast for which we were grateful). I'm vegetarian but the menu was one I could work with ..... except that there were NO vegetables that night! No salad, no carrots no peas - nothing. We went elsewhere. My suspicion is that the owner is relying on bar regulars and the annual Lewes Bonfire parade to keep his business a float. This place really should only offer beer i.e. being a pub....
