Strange little pub, but it does feel very cliquey, in a non threatening way. Hardly room for the proverbial swinging cat, but this only adds to the quirkiness. VERY well priced drinks and well kept cask ales. Super friendly young barmaid, who makes you feel at ease and welcome. They have a couple of tables and chairs outside on the side footpath, so although not exactly prime location, you do get fresh air and the occasional passer by Not the greatest pub in the World, but if you are looking for that long gone, traditional, local ale house...you have probably found it here. Worth checking out if you are passing.

I love this pub. Been several times, a must when I visit Lewes. Casta and Madge made a new Flat Eric friend. It is a very simple and small pub. The central bar splits it into two rooms. The side alley allows outside pavement seating. A CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular. Six real ales and one cider. I had a Gun Brewery On the Plush. A 3.4% session blond. Many awards. Dog friendly. No TV's!!!

Good if ur looking for cask. Few bottles in fridge. Good enough for local people. Full of old bunch peoples. They giving u a look as they’re not happy to see u there. Not good vibes or atmosphere. Not happy with that as many pub r going to close in uk now a days. They must have to change things for having good business. Hope get good news from them one day 👍🏻

Occasionally, you may be/I'm made to feel like an insect.Maybe it's just me. Unless you're a regular - and if you are you wont be reading this - then don't be holding your breath for a "Hi, how are you - how's your day so far?"

That said - I love it.

No corporate "s...."

Great choice of x6 constantly changing choice of ales on the front bar - beware though - you'll walk/fall out through the front door one day with a voice in your head screaming 'oops'

Supreme location - sit outside when it's raining, honestly it doesn't matter if you do get wet, does it.

Do it - go...
