Very disappointing. First I was told I could choose where to sit. As I was about to sit down, I can only assume it was the manager that said I could not sit where I had chosen. We were then moved between two tables I had hoped to avoid. There is no room at the smaller tables for a handbag. We were placed by the window which had a cold draft. I swapped places with my friend in the hope of getting away from the draft but this came under the table. And I had to sit with my coat and scarf on my legs. I had noticed the restaurant was quite cold, so that is why I had chosen the table in front of the grill, only to be told to move… The food was a huge let down even with the poor service and atmosphere I thought I would at least get a good meal. The starters arrived after some time. The calamari was totally overdone and no lemon wedge was served. It was like chewing rubber. The garlic mushrooms were quite bland and the sauce was very thin. The lamb shish was very small and again overcooked. You could chew on it all day like cowboys. The rice was vile, neither my friend nor I touched it after one mouthful. My friend said his mixed was also overdone and dry. Portions are small. Service is awful. They served our mains before we finished our starters and then left our starter plates on the minute table for us to struggle with room. No check backs were done. We did order Turkish tea but they forgot about us. There are TVs in the restaurant, something I personally dislike but I know that it is popular with some. Lots of noise made for birthdays of which there appeared to be many in midweek early December. I would not return and definitely not recommend. There are much better restaurants in liverpool worth the drive. Staff...
Read moreAnar is a Turkish breakfast restaurant that left me and my family feeling very disappointed with our experience. We visited as a group of nine people and were immediately greeted by a staff member who informed us that we had not booked in advance. While we were offered a table, the staff member's warning that we could not complain and that the food would take a long time set an unwelcoming tone for the rest of the meal.
As we waited for our food, the staff's demeanor remained unfriendly and unaccommodating, making for a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not make up for the negative experience. The dishes we ordered were of very low quality, with the eggs and bread being particularly underwhelming. It was clear that the food was not made with care, and it felt as though we were paying for a high-end experience but receiving subpar food and service.
The issues with the food order only added to the disappointment. Two members of our group were left waiting for their food, and despite asking for a replacement, we were told that it was not possible. We waited an additional 20 minutes for the missing food to be made, and the staff did not apologize for the error.
Overall, Anar was a big letdown. The staff's attitude was unacceptable, and it made me feel as though our group was unwelcome. The food quality and the issues with the order only added to the negative experience. Given the high prices we paid, I expected better service and quality of food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant and enjoyable...
Read moreVery Disappointing Experience – Ruined My Brother’s Birthday Celebration
We had planned a surprise birthday dinner for my brother at Anar Restaurant, Liverpool, and unfortunately, the experience was terrible.
I called the restaurant in advance to request a cake, but they said they don’t provide one. I then politely asked if they could arrange a cake from the nearby shop (which is part of their own premises), but they refused very rudely. Since it was meant to be a surprise, I couldn’t buy the cake myself before arriving.
When we reached the restaurant, we placed our order and handed over the cake to them. The food quality was okay, but the quantity was poor and the prices were higher than other nearby restaurants. It also took a very long time for the food to be served.
After finishing the meal, we waited almost 20 minutes for the cake, but they never brought it until we went and reminded them. The staff’s attitude was extremely unprofessional—especially the waiters and waitresses. Even when I asked them to clear the plates before cutting the cake, they ignored the request. By the time they finally brought the cake, I had already started clearing the table myself, and because of the delay and confusion, I missed recording the birthday celebration video I had planned.
It was such a disappointing and frustrating experience. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone who wants to celebrate a special occasion. The staff seriously need training on customer service and...
