Jumbo Cafe — Restaurant in Liverpool

The Chinese food is gorgeous here and there's loads of it. My kids have had food from the ordinary menu and enjoyed it plus they have a small list of puddings you can choose from. You can buy soft drinks or hot drinks and premises has a licence so you can take your own beer/wine to have with your meal. The sit-down area is lovely and clean and you can take food away too but they don't deliver unfortunately. The single negative comment I have is that the chips (which most people like to order with their meals in there) are always overcooked to the point there's no potato inside so they're inedible (this has been the case every time we visited). Sort the chips out Jumbo plz! everything else...

I dont know. This is clearly not my type of restaurant so I didn't enjoy the food. I did appreciate the service (minimal, but she did the effort to change a few things in my dish) I also liked the variety and different options, of course the price is very cheap, but I'm guessing the ingredients are too. I should mention I had a tummy ache about 20min after eating, but again, I'm not used to Chinese food. Everything was quite saucy and fatty. I've been coming here for best part of 10 years, ever since I started the refurbishment of the gladstone conservatory in Stanley's Park. The food is top notch, the staff are friendly and helpful and very efficient. The Beef with spring onion and Ginger is a must, you won't be disappointed. Every time I'm in Liverpool I make a bee line for here....
